Unauthorized disclosure or misuse of the PERSONAL INFORMATION may result in criminal and/or civil penalties” WITNESSES The apostles testified to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, even Thomas, the doubter. “This witness is recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, Son of God.” Tradition is the handing on of this firsthand witness of those who saw from the beginning till each of us now. “Happy and blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe.” Our faith is based on witnesses. We cry with Thomas, “My Lord and my God!” May the Lord strengthen us and give us his peace. Peace be with you! Text, Philip J. Sandstrom, STD © 2000, OCP. All rights reserved. OUR THANKS TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED THE RCIA & LIFETEENSPONSORED LENT PROJECT for SAFE HARBOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CRISIS CENTER in Kaysville TODAY'S READINGS By Dave Pitt The reaction of “Doubting Thomas” is very familiar to us. How often, when presented with news that seems unbelievable, do we not seek some sort of proof to verify the improbable claims? What is often overlooked in this Gospel story, however, is Jesus' response to Thomas of complete openness. Jesus does not evade the questions, nor lapse into a lengthy discourse about faith. Instead, Jesus offers Thomas the proof he seeks, and in Jesus' offer itself, rather than Thomas touching Jesus' wounds (which John decidedly does not mention) Thomas comes to faith in the risen Christ. © 2006, OCP.
