Hence Christ University with this perspective to promote
research in various disciplines initiated the Centre for
Research to promote, facilitate, co-ordinate, develop and
serve as an information center.

The Centre has been conceived as an attempt to
stimulate and rediscover through experience, the
perspectives in education so that individuals and
institutions reflect and rediscover themselves and move
towards a sustainable progress in the educational arena.
NATIONAL SEMINAR ON
SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION FOR
ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATORS
In the current environment of changes impacting higher
education, the academic departments are expected to
respond to the industry‟s demands. India is required to
train and up skill 200 million people by 2020. In such a
situation educational institutes will have to give supreme
importance to skill development and make it an essential
part of its activities to empower the youth in particular and
give power to the nation at large. The project focuses on
the various skills that is missing in young graduates and
aims at informing the academic institutions on how to
impart quality skill to the students.
In this context the National Seminar on Skill Development
in Higher Education for the Academic Administrators is an
opportunity to get an insight into the various skills that is
required by the industry and take a closer look at the
problems of skill development in India and find a feasible
solution to imparting the required skills to the students.
PARTICIPANTS
Principals, Vice Principals, Chairman‟s of the Universities,
Deans, HODs, Coordinators of the Department, and
Associate Deans of Departments.
GOAL OF THE CONFERENCE
The Seminar will create a platform for sharing
experiences through which the participants will focus on
the issues of skill development in higher education in
India.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
1) To facilitate a platform for knowledge exchange about
the various skills required by young graduates.
2) To identify the specific skill demanded by the industry.
3) To provide opportunities for Principals, Vice
Principals, Chairman‟s of the Universities, Deans,
HODs, Coordinators of the Department, and
Associate Deans of Departments to discuss about the
various ways in which skills can be built in order to
promote the employability of students.
4) To make suitable recommendations in terms of role by
various functionaries to ensure Skill Development at
different levels of Higher Education.

Papers should be typed in a single column with 1.5 line
spacing, in Times New Roman 12 font. The first page
should include the paper title, with the authors name,
postal address, telephone number and email id at the top
right hand corner of the page.
SUBMISSION OF PAPERS AND REGISTRATION
Participants intending to present a paper in the seminar
should email/send an abstract of about 200 words, along
with the filled in registration fee to the Director, TQMS,
Christ University Bangalore on or before 22/04/2015.
The full paper should be submitted on or before
28/04/2015. The paper must be presented by the author
or the co-author. Abstracts and full papers can be sent in
as MS word document attachment by email to
