Offering free legal advice to
individuals in our community who are
experiencing financial hardship.
CLG Programs
Family Law Program: We help adults with
family law problems where abuse, trauma,
violence or vulnerabilities exist. We give legal
advice and services along with emotional
support and social agency referrals through our
lawyer and non-lawyer advocate team.
General Family Law questions can be
addressed at the CLG Downtown Evening
Clinics.
Homeless Outreach Program: We help
people who are homeless or at risk of
becoming homeless. We can give answers to
many different legal questions and help with
criminal charges and evictions.
Immigration Law Program: We help people
needing support with permits, visas, and
sponsorship. We also help with applications
for permanent residence and refugee
protection.
Elder Law Program: We help older adults
understand and protect their legal rights using
documents like wills and powers of
attorney. We empower people to live
independently.
Social Benefits Advocacy Program: We help
people who are having problems with their
income, employment, or human rights. We
give legal advice and assistance to people
applying for benefits like AISH and CPP or
whose workplace or human rights have been
violated.

CLG offers free and confidential legal clinics
where lawyers give advice in many areas of law:
CLG Downtown Evening Clinic: Answers to all
kinds of legal questions, except for immigration

Do Your Own Divorce Clinic: For people who
have settled their child support, property & debts
and want help with their divorce forms

ID Clinics: Get a free photo ID card notarized by
a lawyer (not government identification). Clinics
are at CLG 403.234.9266 and the Women’s
Centre of Calgary 403.264.1155.

Lawyer Referral Service: An information service
where you will be given the names and contact
numbers of three lawyers you can talk to about
your legal questions. Call 403.228.1722 or toll

to Friday.

kinds of legal questions for Indigenous persons

immigration law. Cantonese and Mandarin
