The course covers the developmental milestones and related safety concerns for each developmental stage from birth to five years. The course gives practical advice on age appropriate games, toys and activities as well as particular safety concerns for each developmental stage. COURSE STRUCTURE SUMMARY The course covers the following: From birth to five years: • Sensory and emotional development • Fine motor and visual development • Gross motor development • Communication and auditory development • Feeding, oral-facial development and self help skills • Safety • Age appropriate games, toys, activities and books • Overview of developmental milestones ASSESSMENT AND AWARD You will need to submit a Portfolio of Evidence and an assignment, which will be used to determine competency. Once you have successfully completed the Portfolio of Evidence, you will be awarded with a College SA Certificate in Developmental Milestones: Activities and Safety.
