Is Foundation Institute, Center for Biblical Education, for you? What’s it like to study one year of Bible at the headquarters of the Church of God, a Worldwide Association? We asked some of this year’s students to comment. According to the American Heritage Dictionary, the definition of leaven is: "1. An agent, such as yeast, that causes batter or dough to rise, especially by fermentation. 2. An element, influence, or agent that works subtly to lighten, enliven, or modify a whole. Leavening includes yeast and chemical leavening agents, such as baking powder, baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) and potassium bicarbonate. (Other ingredients that are sometime confused with leaven include brewer's yeast, yeast extract, torula yeast, autolyzed yeast, cream of tartar and cornstarch. These are not leavening agents.) Bible Trivia—Bible General--Suffering in the Bible (answers below) A student comments: “Ever had a Bible question you just can’t get resolved? Ever wanted to know the background behind what is said in the Bible? Ever wanted to learn how to study with positive results? The atmosphere is warm, and the people are great, regardless of the age differences. Come and experience the Bible all day long.” 1. Foundation Institute is now accepting and processing applications for the 2015-2016 academic year. Applications are due by May 31 and may be downloaded at foundationinstitute.org. The website also answers frequently asked questions about the cost of the program, housing and admission requirements. 2. a. b. c. d. March 24 54 Years Upcoming Events April 3 April 4 4.
