Head Athletic Trainer

Position Summary
Mitchell College is currently searching for an energetic and forward thinking Head Athletic Trainer, who
will develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for Mitchell College
intercollegiate sports teams. The Head Athletic Trainer will also perform professional and administrative
services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program, including
supervision of a FT Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Mitchell College sponsors 15 varsity sports, with over 240 student athletes competing in Division III of
the NCAA. Individuals must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends and
work independently, as well as part of a team, in a multi-tasking environment.
Required Education and Experience:
 MS Degree in athletic training or a related field required
 NATABOC certification required with National Academy of Sports Medicine or National
Strength & Conditioning Association certification preferred – CSCS; NASM-PES
 Connecticut Athletic Trainer License
 Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid with instructor certification
 Current and valid driver’s license
 Individuals must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
 Demonstrated sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a
diverse community

This is a 10-month FLSA exempt level position and is paid bi-weekly, as a 100% full-time
appointment, with regular College benefits. The salary is commensurate with experience and the start
