Skate Milwaukee 2015 Seminars
Wednesday, July 8th

“Introduction to Judging Figure Skating”
Open to those 16 and older.
Presenters are USFS officials:
Eric Hampton, International Judge
Charlotte Heidenreich, Wisconsin FSC Midwestern Sectional Judge
Join us for an opportunity to learn the fun and excitement of being a
figure skating judge! The Wisconsin FSC is hosting a special introductory
seminar that will help current and past skaters learn key information
needed to get them started in competition judging and test judging.
Attendees will get an introduction to the basics of competition judging,
including the 6.0 System and the International Judging System (IJS). We
will use video and interactive discussions to introduce you to judging in a
casual and fun atmosphere.
Get started with background information and exposure to the fundamental
skills, followed by an opportunity to practice those skills at Skate
Milwaukee.
Seminar fee is $15 for Wisconsin FSC members and $25 for non-Wisconsin
FSC members. Dinner is included!

“Updates and Clarifications of Rules for the Upcoming Season”
Presenter: Alexander Lakernik
Hear directly from the Chair of the International Skating Union Technical
Committee about updates for this season.
Seminar 2 –
“The Road to Winning the Championship”
Presenters: Alexa Scimeca & Chris Knierim (National Pairs Champions)
Learn what it takes to work to the top level of competition and how to
overcome obstacles in your path.
Friday, July 10th
(8:00 pm)
NEW – “Spin Clinic”
Intermediate, Novice, Junior, and Senior skaters are eligible to participate.
$20 entry fee
Skater, along with coach, will participate in on-ice exercises and
evaluation of current IJS spin features with our top officials.
Enrollment is limited.

“What You Need to Know About Skating”
Presenters:
Brenda Kickertz – USFS Sectional Competition Judge
Katie Kickertz – Former skater and USFS Sectional Competition Judge
Suzanne Schlecht – USFS Certified Accountant
Skaters and parents hear first hand how two families navigate the world
of figure skating. Our presenters have experience in many facets of the
sport such as singles and synchronized competition, testing, coaching,
accounting and judging.
