PIERRE KIHN, Patent and Trademark Attorney, Office Freylinger SA, LU Pierre joined Office Freylinger S.A. in 1992, qualifying as a Luxembourg Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney in 1996. He is also a Representative authorized to act before the OHIM and the BOIP. Since February 2009, he is the CEO of Office Freylinger. Pierre Kihn is graduated as a chemical engineer from the University of Louvain, Belgium. He is experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for inventions from across the chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical and metallurgical fields. He is used to handling multi-jurisdictional patent portfolios and advising on filing strategies. He is further involved in a number of opposition proceedings and pleaded cases before Opposition Division and Appeal Division of the European Patent Office. Pierre also coordinates infringement cases in the United States of America, in Canada, in the United Kingdom, in Germany and in Italy. He is also in charge of the Firm’s SPC cases, one of which was pleaded before the European Court of Justice Pierre is versed in preparing legal agreements in the IP-field, more specifically, secrecy agreements, cooperation and license agreements. He also makes valuations of IP assets for transfer of assets, assignments, accounting purposes. Pierre regularly gives lectures on IP-Law subjects to 3rd year engineering students at the University of Luxembourg as well as in an MBA course of ICN (Nancy, France). Pierre is a co-author of the book "Intellectual Property in Luxembourg (Vademecum)"- Promoculture-Larcier.
