What is an Alert
An Alert is a report, originating from a user or manufacture of a specified
item, on failures or problems experiences with that item, to other
organizations which may use that item, and might therefore experience
similar problems. Each Alert report is CONFIDENTIAL and shall not be
distributed outside the group of registered members.
Submission of Presentations
Presentations for accepted abstracts shall be submitted before 16th
March 2015 to allow the Workshop Committee to review them and to
provide feedback to the authors.
The ESA Alert System
The EAS is the official ESA Alert system used to ensure distribution and
awareness of failures and problems experienced in ESA space projects. It is
based on prompt exchange of information among all registered participants
of the system. Every registered user can contribute to the creation of an
ESA alert by reporting an issue to the EAS Focal Point via the Initiate Alert
page. See alerts.esa.int.
Authors will be contacted by the Workshop Programme Committee for
the revision and final approval of the presentation.
The Alert Workshop
The Alert Workshop is primarily intended to share suggestions - within the
space community - on improved exchange mechanisms that can be
implemented in the existing alert systems in order to:
- enhance its benefits to users
- increase its reach in terms of partners
- increase the number of shared alerts.
Topics
The chosen topics should reflect the main theme and the list of objectives of
the workshop. However the list is not to be considered exhaustive. Authors
are encouraged to submit abstracts and presentations on topics they
consider relevant, even if they are not explicitly mentioned above.
Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts will be by invitation. However, persons willing to contribute a
presentation in line with the workshop objectives, are able to do so via any
member of the Workshop Programme Committee.
Abstracts should contain the following information:
- title of the presentation
- name of the author
- telephone and Company of the author
- short description of the topics addressed.
Presentations shall not exceed a duration of 30' (including 5' of Q&A) and
shall be sent to the following e-mail: easmail@esa.int.
