this takes 1 staff member about 1/2 hour for menus and 1/2 to 1 hour for placecards.

a-la-carte event planning
Want to rent cocktail tables, find styling props, or get favors for your guests? Need help coming up with a comfortable budget,
and sticking to it? We offer in-house event planning and coordination. It’s cost-efficient: one hour or ten - whatever you need,
not more nor less. It’s also convenient: if you’ve already made a reservation, you don’t need a separate contract.

If you would like professional help for your event, we can hire the following types of services for you. For the below event
services, there is no hourly event coordination charge; instead, a simple 20% fee will apply to the cost of orders (minimum $300)
and all charges will be included on one bill for your convenience.

If you prefer that we coordinate a full event, please let us know after you book your Cookhouse reservation, and we can then
send you an all-inclusive event proposal for approval.
Give us a brief description of the occasion, preferences for cuisine or decor, the guest count, and what event style (e.g.,
reception, seated, family style) you have in mind.
We’ve fully planned executive dinners, birthday parties, press events, cooking classes, and industry mixers.

mac knives - bestsellers
This Chef's knife is modeled after the standard French chef's knife which has a slightly
curved edge and a fast taper towards the tip (compared to a Japanese chef's knife
which has a more gradual taper from the heel to the tip). This is a 9½-inch version
which is fairly standard for most professional chefs. A multipurpose knife for just about
anything you would cut on a cutting board. Our most popular chef's knife for
professional kitchens.
Professional Series 8.0" Chef's Knife w/ dimples ($175) ..... sub-zero steel | 6.5 oz | blade 7.88" x 1.88" | thickness 2.5mm
This is our most popular knife for everyday use. The 8" length is the most commonly
used size in both the home and professional kitchen. With standard features of our
Professional series, the thin blade and bolster allows this knife to easily cut, slice, and
dice almost any food. The added dimples help the knife to glide through sticky foods
such as potatoes, apples, and summer squash.

The iconic kitchen knife over the last decade. The dimpled Santoku has become
commonplace amongst the current household knife set. Ours features the standard
bolster of our Professional Series and dimples to help the knife glide through almost
any food with ease. The "knife of three virtues" is perfect for fruits/vegetables, meats,
and fish. This knife also features our sub-zero tempered steel (“superior steel”) which
retains its edge better than our original steel.

This 10½" Slicer is our version of the straight, dimpled slicer that is frequently used at
carving stations and for thinly slicing fish. The long, narrow blade produces thin, even
slices with ease and the curved blade shape allows the knife to fall through tender
meats very quickly. The added dimples reduce drag which further allows this knife to
cut through most proteins with little effort. It can also be used to fillet large fish such as
salmon, tuna, and halibut.

This small paring knife is the most common size for peeling and paring. Great for
precision or intricate work off of the cutting board. The pointed tip can be used for
intricate melon carving or simply for removing the stems from strawberries and
tomatoes.

This medium paring knife is small enough to be used for peeling and paring but large
enough to slice small fruits and vegetables. Because of the narrow blade, it can also
be used as a small boning or utility knife.

This 10½" serrated bread and roast slicer is a favorite among professional chefs and
home cooks. The revolutionary "scalloped" serrations cut through breads and roasts
without tearing them apart. The extra long blade with a slight curve produces seethrough-thin slices of bread and paper-thin roast beef. Our favorite knife for carving a
holiday roast turkey. To maximize its effectiveness use an exaggerated, long, sawing
action and use as little pressure as possible to create even, thin slices.
Superior Series cleaver 6.5” ($115) ........................................ sub-zero steel | 8.0 oz | blade 6.56” x 1.88" | thickness 3.0mm
This 6½" cleaver looks like a santoku but has a 3.0mm thick blade for chopping
through hard foods like chicken and fish bones. The slightly more rounded edge
comes from the Japanese-style cleaver called a Deba which typically has a thick blade
that is single-bevel. This version has a double-bevel edge as a Western modification. Works great on hard foods like crab shells, parmesan cheese, and chicken joints. Designed for chopping downwards; do not bend/twist/pry the blade. Sand-blasted
strip along edge.

This 6" boning knife has an oversize handle to maximize your grip when working in
slippery butchering environments. The handle shape is designed for both a standard
grip or a reverse butcher's grip. The narrow, pointed shape works easily around bones
and the stiffness keeps you in control of the blade's edge. This version has a straight
blade with a slightly curved edge. Comes with a butcher's sheath for holstering the
knife on your belt. Also a great fillet knife for fishermen and hunters.
Japanese Series 10.25” Yanagiba, right or left-hand ($180). sub-zero steel | 7.2 oz | blade 15.25” x1.33" | thickness 3.0mm
This traditionally-shaped Yanagiba is the most common style of knife for slicing sashimi
(uncooked fish). The 10¼" version is the most common size for most fish. Lefthanded versions are available.
A traditional saya (wooden scabbard) is also available for 45.00. This beautiful wooden
scabbard is hand-made from Japanese magnolia. To ensure the best fit, please order
the scabbard when you order the knife.
