PARISH MATTERS
Today’s Mass Theme Thought
We can produce works that are
the fruit of the Spirit only if we remain with Christ. This is the main
theme of the gospel today and is presented through the image of the vine
and its branches.
The second reading draws our attention to another point. Our faith is
manifested by works of love. These
ensure possession of the life of God
in ourselves.
The first reading tells us of Paul
who, in spite of all difficulties, misunderstandings and suspicions, preserved his union with Christ and with
the community of his disciples.
Diocesan Day for Catechists
The annual Day for Catechists this
year is on Saturday 27th June, at St
George’s Cathedral, starting at 11am
and ending with Mass at 4.00pm.
This is an in-service training for all
Catechists in the diocese (including
those involved in Children’s Liturgy),
and a day of support for them in their
ministry. The Archbishop ask all Catechists to attend if at all possible.
CORES YOUTH FESTIVAL
The Parish Youth is planning to celebrate Youth Festival / Fun fair on
Sunday 13th September 2015. Youths
from other parishes within the deanery would be invited. To this effect,
the parish youth is organising a cake
sale this weekend at all the Masses.
One of the parish youth’s rep will address the parishioners this weekend at
all the Masses.
