Workshop Concerning Sexual Behaviours in Out of Home Care Responding to Concerning Sexual Behaviours in Out of Home Care Aim: To provide the essential knowledge and skills on how to respond to children's normal, concerning and abusive sexual behaviour to create safe and healing homes. Target groups: • Dept Residential Care, Child Protection and Senior Education Workers • Psychologists • Foster Carers and Youth Workers/Carers Partner Agencies Learning Outcomes • • • • Differentiate between normal, concerning and abuse behaviours Develop a trauma informed understanding of concerning sexual behaviours Explore sexual offending dynamics and its impact on children Respond to situations of sexual abuse of a child by another child in residential care Training for: CPFS Staff Partner Agencies Carers Structure Day 1 • Explore how sexuality is culturally built • Apply the Traffic Lights Model of concerning sexual behaviours • The development of CSB: a picture of protective and risk factors • Traumatic sexualisation and trauma reenactment Day 2 • Supporting healthy sexuality in residential settings • How to implement Ryan’s model of responding to concerning sexual behaviour • Developing protective strategies with children • Professional responses to allegations of abuse by children to children Recommend Prior Learning Participants are encouraged to have completed Creating Sanctuary and Impact of Trauma.
