JDX Racing Public Relations March 18th, 2015 Jroncetti@jdxracing.com JDX Racing Announces Formula Lites Program Ft.Collins, CO - Veteran sports car race team JDX Racing in conjunction with IndyCar Driver Justin Wilson is proud to announce they will be competing in and are poised to launch a four car assault in the new for 2015 Formula Lites Championship. JDX Racing has a strong open wheel history and lineage, being staffed with open wheel professionals from IndyCar, Champ Car and CART, having won multiple races and championships. The Formula Lites car was recently unveiled at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The Honda powered FL15 built by Crawford Composites, is an all carbon composite constructed car designed to develop young open wheel talent. The Pirelli shod race car features the very latest technology and engineering at a price that is financially manageable to purchase, maintain and race. The new series will be sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, offering drivers and fans of open wheel racing the most modern junior open wheel platform in North America. The Formula Lites championship will compete in a 12-race, six weekend schedule starting at Thompson Speedway in May, with the season finale at MSR Houston in September. Justin Wilson commented, “I'm really proud to partner with JDX Racing. I have a history of 10 plus years with the guys at JDX, and am excited to help mentor and develop the young driving talent the FL15 will attract. I plan to attend as many tests and races as my 2015 schedule will allow, helping to coach and groom our drivers”. Wilson added, “The guys at Crawford have built a modern race car, manufactured with both safety and speed in mind. Quite simply it’s the best package for young drivers to step in to if they want to develop the skills required to be a professional open wheel driver.” JDX Racing Founder, Jeremy Dale said, "I'm really proud that JDX is taking on the Formula Lites program because open wheel racing is close to my racing roots, as is my experience in helping train and work with young drivers. During my tenure as managing director of the CART sanctioned Barber-Dodge Pro Series, I worked with drivers that have gone on to be highly successful professionals, including Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, AJ Allmendinger, John Fogarty, Michael Valiante and Bryan Sellers.” JDX Racing team principal Harrison Brix commented, “For JDX Racing to do an open wheel program is a very logical extension for the team. Collectively JDX personnel have more than 50 years of open wheel racing experience at the highest levels of IndyCar, Champ Car and CART competition, including multiple championships - so we have a very high level of comfort and confidence with open wheel cars. Brix continued “Having Justin Wilson, who is a 12 year IndyCar veteran, will help take the JDX program to a different level. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of that?" JDX Racing anticipates it will begin testing the FL15 in early May so the team is well positioned to take the green flag at the series/season opener in Connecticut at Thompson Speedway on May 28th.
