As in past years, the meeting will be held at the Aqua Turf Club, Plantsville, CT. The speaking program will commence at 2:30 p.m. and conclude at approximately 5:00 p.m. A reception immediately follows the presentation and dinner service will commence at 5:45 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. adjournment anticipated. SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW CBA Chairman Steve Reilly will preside over the program, which features three presentations. As with past Symposiums, the topics have been chosen to provide bank directors and senior officers with the most up-todate information on regulatory developments and current trends in the financial services industry in an effort to aid them in their ongoing business planning decisions. Commissioner Perez was newly appointed Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Banking in March 2015. He began his career with Sovereign Bank and most recently at Liberty Bank in Middletown, CT. As Banking Commissioner, he has jurisdiction over Connecticut’s laws pertaining to commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, credit unions, consumer credit, broker-dealers, investment advisers, securities, tender offers and business opportunities. He oversees the supervision of 38 state-chartered banks and thrifts and 30 state-chartered credit unions and heads a department with over 100 employees. Next, Richard J. Parsons, Banking Industry Analyst and Author of Broke: America’s Banking System. Using his deep industry experience and unique approach to bank research, Parsons explains why the U.S. banking system has suffered nearly 3,500 bank failures over the past three decades. As a banker with over 30 years of experience, he offers common sense solutions to fix deep-rooted problems that have plagued the industry for generations. As a national speaker Parsons talks about the future of banking. He addresses the macro forces shaping the future of commercial banking. In his presentations Parsons examines the critical factors that determine bank profitability and ultimately the future of individual banks and the industry. Prior to writing and speaking about the banking industry, Parsons spent more than 31 years at Bank of America where he was an executive vice president and member of the Management Operating Committee. Finally, joining us is Kenneth W. Gronbach is president of KGC Direct, LLC and author of the current best-selling book "The Age Curve: How To Profit from the Coming Demographic Storm". Ken is an internationally respected demographer who has been able to forecast societal, commercial, economic, cultural and political phenomena with uncanny accuracy. Ken’s unusual blend of marketing savvy and common sense demography, based on twenty years of proprietary demographic study, set him apart. Ken keynotes all over the United States and does customized demographic research. You will find that Ken’s steadfast position, that the United States is the best Nation on earth and his firm belief that the country’s best days are ahead, season his spirited presentations with an unmistakable pro-American enthusiasm. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS In accordance with the rules and guidelines of the Connecticut State Board of Public Accountancy, the 2015 Director & Senior Officer Symposium may be worth 2 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. The Symposium has not been pre-approved for credit. The field of study for this course is Banking. Attendees interested in receiving a confirmation of attendance memo from the CBA should leave their business cards with staff at the registration desk. SYMPOSIUM SEATING Since this program historically attracts approximately 275 attendees, the Association will pre-seat the meeting and dinner. Bank delegations will be seated together whenever possible. For Associate Members wishing to be seated with a particular bank/client, please indicate your preference in the space provided on the registration form. We will make every attempt to honor your seating requests, but they are not guaranteed. At the end of the exit, there will be a light. Go straight onto Mulberry St. Go straight approximately 1 mile, you go through several stop signs. The Aqua Turf Club will be on your right. From New Haven: I-91 North or the Merritt Parkway to Rt. 691 West towards Waterbury. Take Exit 4 (Southington). Take a right at the end of the exit. At the bottom of the hill (McDonald’s is on the corner), take a right onto South End Rd. Follow until you come to Mulberry St. on the left, the Aqua Turf is on Mulberry St. approximately ¼ mile on your left. From Waterbury/ Danbury: I-84 East to Exit 28. Take a right onto Route 322. Go straight, under second underpass take a left at the car wash onto Old Turnpike Rd. At first stop sign, turn right onto Mulberry St. The Aqua Turf is a ½ mile on your right.
