OLD BUSINESS 14.1 Past Motion: President Fred Watt bring forward a motion at the next GM of CUPE 905, on the matter of a resolution to increase strike pay from $300.00 to $400.00 per week. This resolution is to be presented at the National Convention in November 2015. 14.2 CUPE National Convention Sponsorship MOTION 15-GM-35 CUPE 905 establish a sponsorship fund of $6000.00 per National Convention year to be used to send delegates from small, new or remote locals to National Convention. NEW BUSINESS 15.1 Andre Lamoureux – Cornwall (Sept 28 – Oct 2) MOTION 15-GM-36 Motion to send 5 members to the Andre Lamoureux Memorial School on Sept 28 to Oct 2, 2015 for a cost of up to $1300.00/member, to include registration, accommodations and meals. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.3 Steelworkers Donation MOTION 15-GM-38 Motion to donation $5000.00 to the Steelworkers at Crown Holdings, who are involved in an 18 month strike. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.4 Day of Mourning Dedication Plaque MOTION 15-GM-39 Motion to spend $290.00 plus taxes for the memorial plaque and installation. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.5 DAY of Mourning Garden Preparation MOTION 15-GM-40 Motion to spend $6050.00 plus taxes for clean-up, soil, plants/flowers, and sod around the water fixture and new member entrance, as per a past motion to hold a Day of Mourning event. Elevator Services MOTION 15-GM-41 Motion to enter into a 3 year contract with KONE Inc. for elevator maintenance, cost of $233/month, plus taxes. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.7 Landscaping Maintenance MOTION 15-GM-42 Motion to spend $230.00/month plus taxes for grounds maintenance, including pruning and weeding of gardens. Along with $300.00 plus taxes to close and open the water fixtures. This includes winterization of the pump/water fountains. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.15 Pride Flags MOTION 15-GM-50 Motion to purchase 3 branded 905 rainbow flags, 2 marching flags for pride parade, 1 flag pole, at cost not to exceed $1500.00. Moved/Seconded: Executive Board/_________________________/____________________ 15.16 Strategic Planning MOTION 15-GM-51 Motion to have the Signing officers, Unit chairpersons and Vice Chairperson booked off for 2 days (if required) for a strategic planning session and the expense of an external facilitator. ELECTIONS 16.1 Committees Social (1) Executive Board Member and a minimum three (3) members H&S The Chair and Co-Chair of the Committee shall be certified members. A quorum for the conduct of committee business shall be at least three (3) members, one of whom shall be a Signing Officer. (Minimal 1 member, 1 signing officer) Communication President and three (3) members (2 members) Mobile Action Committee Vice President and fourteen (14) members elected from the membership at large. Preference shall be given to diversity of unit membership in the committee with a view to having one (1) member from each Local Unit. (12 members) Community Support Committee (4) members elected from the membership at large.
