Maestro William Henry Curry, Music Director and Conductor of
the Durham Symphony since 2009, is also the N.C. Symphony's
Resident Conductor and Summerfest Artistic Director. Prior
engagements included his debut with the Richmond Symphony
Orchestra at the age of 21 and leadership and guest posts with
the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber
Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony, the New York City
Opera, the Houston Grand Opera, the Chicago Opera Theatre,
and the New Orleans Symphony.
Curry, a composer whose music has been widely performed, is
also noted for his eloquence as an advocate for universal music
education. As an instructor at the Peabody Conservatory and
the Baltimore School for the Arts and as a frequent conductor
of educational concerts throughout North Carolina, he has been
and is a beacon and mentor for promising young musicians.
Anatoly Larkin
Following his musical upbringing in Russia and later in Great
Britain, Anatoly Larkin settled into a musical life in the US. In
Minnesota, he was a member of new music ensemble Zeitgeist,
premiering and commissioning works from contemporary
American composers. In 2005, he joined the music technology
company Zenph, where he created Re-Performances® of great
pianists from their historical acoustical recordings. Gould,
Tatum, Rachmaninoff and Peterson albums, released on the
Sony Masterworks label, were met with critical acclaim. After
the dissolution of Zenph in 2012, Anatoly re-focused on more
performing and music teaching. He currently resides in NC.
Classical Voice of North Carolina (CVNC)
Classical Voice of North Carolina publishes the CVNC.org
website, a professionally written and edited arts journal
covering individual artists and small to large arts organizations
across NC. We exist to serve those who believe that the arts are
an integral part of life and cannot thrive unless the community
knows what is available (over 3,600 events per year in our
calendar) and what effect it has on audiences (at least 500
reviews each year).

We do the posting for them! These events come from nearly 1,000 presenters in 135 towns and cities across NC. Pay CVNC's 40 contracted critics and 2 editors for 500 performance and art exhibit reviews each year. Each month more than 250 worthy concerts, plays, dance performances, and art exhibits are not reviewed by our professionals due to lack of funding. 

Expand the CVNC Arts Journalism Intern Program. These undergraduate students work with mentors at colleges and universities across the state as they write reviews of a wide variety of events. They come to discern the value both professional, full‐time ensembles and community organizations meeting once a week for rehearsal bring to our communities. Presenters frequently include links to CVNC on their own websites, Facebook and Twitter pages, or in their newsletters.
