Here you will find some frequently asked questions concerning Hertz Delebilen. If your question is not answered, feel free to give us a call or write us an e-mail. Membership How do I become a member? Click the register button on the right side. When you have submitted your information, we will send your key token, a contract and a stamped return envelope by mail. You will have to return a signed contract as well as a copy of your driving license, if you have not uploaded a picture of it when registering. As soon as we have these documents, we will activate your membership and send you a password on e-mail and you will then be ready to book our cars. How long will it take for me to become a member? Normally, it takes 2-4 days from when you register until you are approved and are able to book and head off. If it is an urgent matter, please e-mail us after you have registered online and we will usually be able to have you driving within 24 hours during the weekdays. Who can become a member of Hertz Delebilen? Everyone that is 18 years old, has a Danish address and a valid, European driving license. You cannot become a member if you are registered as a poor payer. Employees of Danish registered companies are eligible as well, under a business account, even though they may not have a permanent Danish address. Can other people be attached to my membership? Yes. As a main member, you can add as many persons you like, as long as they have the same address as you. If you hold an A-membership, you will only continue paying for one membership. If you wish to add others as secondary members, they can register online. They will just need to check off “Ja”, when asked if other people live on the same address and then enter the main member’s phone number. We then send the new contracts to sign as well as the key token. The main member will be charged DKK 295 on the following invoice for the registration of each new secondary member. Do you have different types of memberships? Yes. In addition to our A- and C-memberships, we have a student membership with a saving of 65% on a regular A-membership as well as an arrangement for companies and its employees. Do I have to have a key token from Hertz Delebilen? No, you can also use your Rejsekort or the text message received 5 minutes before the start of the booking to unlock the cars. Many companies may have a sort of key card that also can be used instead of our membership card. For more information, please call +45 33 17 90 77. How do I change my address if I move? Log onto your account online and change your address and other personal information if needed in the menu “Min profil”. Will I be invoiced after every drive? We make out invoices once a month. The period runs from the 16 th to the 15th the following month. You can see every booking specified on the invoice. If you are a member via you employment, your employer will receive the specified invoice, but only showing the bookings you have registered as business related when booking. Bookings registered as private are invoiced directly to you and will not be visible on the invoice send to your employer. How do I resign from Hertz Delebilen? Log onto your account online, click “Opsigelse” and follow the instructions. At the moment, this procedure is only available in Danish. If you have any problems, please give us a call or write us an e-mail. Your membership runs out after 30 days, but you are able to book cars in the meantime. For more information, please see the English Terms of Memberships in the menu “Priser”. Will the registration fee be refunded, if I resign? No, but you have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 days from the day you register online. If you use your right before the 14 days and you have not booked any cars, you will get the registration fee refunded if it has been invoiced and paid. Using the cars Must I bring my contract whenever I drive? No, not anymore. All you need to remember is your key token and valid driving license and you are good to go. Can others drive the car, when I have made the booking? No, only the member that made the booking, is allowed to drive the car. Can I book cars all over Denmark? Yes, members of Hertz Delebilen can book a car in both Odense, Aalborg and Copenhagen. Must a booked car always be returned to the same place that I picked it up from? Yes, always. That way, you always know where a car is located. All you need to check is, if it is available. At Hertz Car Rental though, you can rent a car from one place in the country and return it at another Hertz office in Denmark or abroad. Can I drive a car abroad? Yes, as long as you are 21 years old and not driving a van. It is not permitted to enter any currently or former east European countries. For how long time can I book a car? You can book the cars for up until 90 days. If you need a car for a longer period, you can benefit from your Amembership with Hertz Delebilen and recieve a discount on rent cars from Hertz Car Rental. What happens, if I return the car too late? In principle, that generates a fee. Make sure you consider the time to get back to the parking lot when booking, as you only can extend your booking as long as it is still active. How far ahead can I make a booking? You can book a car for up until 6 months before you need it. Can I cancel a booking? Yes and without fees, if the booking is on less than 48 hours and you cancel before the booking starts. Longer bookings must be cancelled as many hours ahead as the booking lasts. For example, if you have booked a car for 72 hours, you must cancel the booking at least 72 hours before the booking starts. If the booking has started when cancelling, you are liable to pay for the length of the booking plus any driven mileage. Am I to pay for the fuel? No, the fuel is included in the price. All cars has a fuel card for Shell gas stations that you must use, when you fill up the car. Sometimes the fuel card has been removed from the car and you must then disburse for the fuel. We will refund your expenses on your following invoice, when we receive the receipt by mail and e-mail. Please remember always to leave the fuel tank ¼ full, in order for the next member to get off well. Car information Does the cars have manual or automatic stick shifts? All our cars have manual stick shifts. Do you change from the summer to winter tires? Yes, all our cars’ tires will be changed when it is time. Can I install roof racks on the car? No, it is not permitted to install roof racks. Are there any car seats for children in the cars? No, but there are isofix brackets in order for you to easily can install your own seat. Am I allowed to smoke in the cars? No, smoking is strictly prohibited in all the cars – also when the window is down. Can I bring animals in the cars? Yes, it is permitted to bring dogs and cats in the cars, as long as they are transported in a suitable cage or box. Out of consideration for the next member, possibly with allergy, all animal hair must be completely removed after using the car. If you book a car with animal hair left, please inform us, in order for us to contact the former user and invoice him for the extra cleaning. Am I to clean the car after use? Although we will clean the cars every two weeks, you are liable to leave the car as you wish to receive it. Out of consideration for the next member, you must take all possible litter with you as well as vacuum the car, if it is dirty after your use. Who maintain the cars? Hertz Delebilen’s technical department ensures that the cars are maintained and inspected as necessary including changing summer and winter tires, receiving parking licenses etc. Additionally, we supervise the cars in order for us to know if the battery is running low etc. Therefore, we are taking care of the problems, before it is a problem for you. You can help ensure that possible complications are handled in time by informing us via delebilen@hertzdk.dk or on +45 33 17 90 75. How old are the cars? Our cars are replaced after 24 months. Where can I park during my booking? All cars are supplied with a parking license for public parking in Odense, Aalborg, Copenhagen or Frederiksberg. This excludes Europark, Q-park, private parking garages etc. The cars in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg has parking licenses for both cities. The parking license does not include “Rød zone” (inner city) in Copenhagen during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Good to know What happens if I get a fine? Fines not paid by the member are re-invoiced to the member and added an administration fee of DKK 200. Who pays for my bridge toll, ferry ticket etc.? You do. The cars do not have BroBizz etc. installed. Am I insured when driving? You are fully insured as long as you do not drive recklessly of have ingested alcohol or any kind of drugs. The insurance covers the car, damages on the opposing car as well as personal injury on passengers in your car and the driver and possible passengers in the opposing car. You must be insured by your own personal insurance. All of Hertz Delebilen’s cars are compulsory insured against third party and his possessions. You do not have any obligations for damages on the car and/or damages on third party and his possessions. Damages/theft must immediately be reported to Hertz Delebilen. If you do not fill out the claim form in the car folder, you risk that the insurance becomes void. You are responsible for damage on and theft of personal belongings in the car during the booking. What should I do, if I damage the car? Before driving, you must check the car for damages that is not stated in the claim form in the car folder. In case of new damages, you shall always fill out the claim form and send it to us. Out of consideration to the next member and to ensure that the damage is repaired, please contact the call center at +45 33 17 90 75, when your booking has ended. If the damage is a minor bump or scratch that do not have influence on safety and comfort, you can also write us on e-mail delebilen@hertzdk.dk. Will I get a replacement car, if anything happens to the car? There are no unpleasant bills from the mechanic at Hertz Delebilen. If the car breaks down, you will receive a replacement car with no additional expenses for you. This is also the situation when abroad. If the car breaks down in Denmark, Hertz Delebilen will provide a replacement car. Falck will handle roadside assistance. If the car breaks down in another European country, a replacement car will be provided as fast as possible, if the car cannot be repaired within a reasonable period of time. How do I achieve a discount on car rental at Hertz in Denmark and the rest of the world? Even though Hertz Delebilen always strive to offer available cars for our members, there may be times when all cars in your neighborhood are booked. If this is the case, you can benefit from you membership at Hertz Delebilen and achieve a discount at Hertz Car Rental. You can also use this advantage, when you need a car abroad or for more than 90 days. You must be an A-member or a supplementary member to an A-member (for businesses) to achieve the discount.
