He has appeared on concert and cabaret stages throughout the country. He received a Tony and Drama Desk nomination for originating the role of Billy Lawlor in 42ND STREET. He starred opposite Carol Channing in HELLO, DOLLY! and more recently as Lumiere in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and Roger DeBris in the most Tony Award-winning show ever, THE PRODUCERS. $45 BRENDA BRAXTON|MAR. 28-29|Mon-Tues 8pm Brenda was nominated for “Best Actress in a Featured Role” for her performance in the Broadway show SMOKEY JOE’S CAFé. She also originated the role of Deloris Van Cartier in the 2009 West End and 2011 Broadway productions of SISTER ACT, making her Broadway debut. She was nominated for a Tony Award and won the Theatre World Award for “Best Actress in a Musical.” Patina was one of three finalists for the role of Effie White in the movie “Dreamgirls.” Film goers will recognize her as Commander Paylor in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 1), and she will appear this year in Part 2. Learn the story behind Frank’s fascinating and tumultuous life, including surprising romances with Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow, his access to Washington political power, and his hard work and lifelong love of music that took him to unprecedented heights. The New York Times calls Tony DeSare “two parts young Sinatra and one part Billy Joel.” Tony will provide musical highlights of some of Sinatra’s most memorable songs including “New York, New York,” “My Way,” “That’s Life” and “All the Way!” It’s a “musical lecture” not to be missed! $30/$45 REBEKAH GREGORY February 4 | Thurs. 2 pm On April 15, 2013 worlds were shattered! The tragic act of terrorism at the Boston Marathon left Rebekah as one of 17 permanently handicapped amputees. Instead of being bitter she has used her platform to encourage others worldwide. Her warm delivery, quick wit and contagious optimism are sure to have you inspired and ready to make your own life changes. Rebekah wrote an open letter to her assailant proclaiming, “I’m not afraid anymore” after seeing him in court. Her story was featured on CNN, NBC and ABC and she appeared on the Ellen Show with her then fiancé Pete DiMartino, and six year old son, whom she shielded from the bomb. Pete was also injured that day. She chronicles her journey in “The Best and Worst Day of My Life.” $30/$45 KENNETH T. WALSH March 17 | Thurs. 2 pm Ken is an award winning political journalist, a Washington insider and an expert on American presidents. He is one of Washington’s longest running White House Correspondents, reporting for US News and World Report since 1986. In this election year, he is the go-to man on networks including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and NPR. He has won the Gerald R. Ford prize for distinguished reporting on the presidency three times. He is also an adjunct professor of communication at American University in Washington, D.C. Ken is the author of six books; his topic will be his latest book, Celebrity in Chief: A History of Presidents and the Culture of Stardom, which chronicles presidents as iconic figures and celebrities of the first order -- how presidents have morphed into “Rock Stars” and why. In 2016 who will be the front-runners and who will be left in their dust? Ken will provide valuable insights. $30/$45 STEFANIE POWERS April 7 | Thurs. 2 pm Stefanie started her career at age 15 dancing for famed Broadway choreographer Jerome Robbins, and she was put under contract to Columbia Pictures in the final years of the Hollywood Star system, where she appeared in 15 of her 30 motion pictures. Her first television series, “The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.,” marked a milestone in U.S. television history as the first hour-long series featuring a female in the leading role. With that, she became a household name, starring opposite Robert Wagner in Hart to Hart, for which she received two Emmy and five Golden Globe nominations. Much of her time is now dedicated to animal preservation and protection. She is the Founder and President of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation established in 1982, and she is on the advisory board of four zoos and a fellow at the Los Angeles Zoo. In April of 2015, she appeared in a concert revival of Steven Sondheim’s “Follies” at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
