The investigation was a joint effort between the St. Charles Police Department and St. Charles School District 303. District 303 thanks the St. Charles Police Department for their assistance in the vigorous pursuit of the investigation of this matter. The staff at St. Charles North also deserves to be commended for their assistance in the investigation. “The most important step in the investigative process is that a person who suspected something was wrong told the school through the Student Resource Officer,” said Dr. Don Schlomann, District 303 Superintendent of Schools. “Again, this demonstrates the responsibility we all have as community members to speak up if we have any knowledge of something that is not right.” “First and foremost, District 303 is a learning community made up of students, parents, staff and the community members who support our schools,” Schlomann added. “Student safety is our top priority and with that in mind, we will conduct an internal review of this incident in order to learn if there was anything we could have done differently.” According to the Kane County State’s Attorney, Lee is charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony. (More) Lee appeared Friday, May 8, 2015, in Kane County bond court. Bail was set at $150,000. Lee must post $15,000 to be released on bond while the charges are pending.
