Announcement NEW REQUIRED TRAINING The Outcome Section of the ISP: Better Outcomes, Better Lives ODP Communication Number: Announcement 030-15 The mission of the Office of Developmental Programs is to support Pennsylvanians with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence, choice and opportunity in their lives. AUDIENCE: Individuals and their Family Members, Supports Coordinators and Supervisors, Administrative Entity and Provider Staff that develop, participate, review and/or approve Individual Support Plans (ISP) for individuals with intellectual disabilities supported by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). NOTE: This is 2015 required training for Supports Coordinators, SC Supervisors, AE Staff and AE Supervisors who review and approve ISPs within ODP’s intellectual disability services programs. Providers are strongly encouraged to attend. PURPOSE: Participants will learn how to use information gathered to develop and complete the Outcome Section of the ISP in a way that is person-centered and meets regulatory requirements. Based on requests from the field, additional focus will be provided in the areas of outcome actions, frequency and duration, and measuring progress. We encourage all participants to view the webcasts: Outcomes: A Bridge to Action and Outcome Statements prior to the training. DISCUSSION: This six hour face-to-face training will provide guidance for developing and completing the Outcome Section of the ISP that uses person centered practices to promote an everyday life for individuals and meets ODP standards. Throughout the training day, participants will have opportunities to apply skills and new learning. The live trainings will be presented at 20 locations throughout the Commonwealth. The trainings will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Certificates will be provided for all participants who complete the training. Online registration information is provided below. Due to anticipated audience response and site capacity, walk-in registration will not be permitted. Supports Coordinators and Supervisors – This is a required training for 2015. All SCs and SC Supervisors must register and participate in a live six- hour training to receive a total of six (6) hours of training credit. ***This is a change from the original seven (7) hours of training credit planned for this course. Administrative Entity Staff – This is a required ODP training for all AE staff that review and approve ISPs and their Supervisors per the AE Operating Agreement (Section 8.1) Participation in Training. “… the AE shall attend and participate in the ODP Academy and any other training session determined by the department as mandatory training.” Additional AE Leadership and staff are encouraged to attend. Providers – Attendance is strongly encouraged for all Provider staff that participate in planning and implementing the ISP; including Direct Support Professionals, Support Service Workers, QIDPs, Program Specialists, Family Living Specialists and Residential and Day Program Supervisors.
