April 2015 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents/Carers
Class Fees
Welcome back to Dynamicmotif Dance and
Performing Arts Academy where we look forward
to teaching your Son/Daughter for the remaining
weeks of the 2014-15 academic year.
The class fees for this half term are stated below.
By now you should have received your invoice
via email with a unique reference for you to pay
online through our secure payment system.
Should you wish to pay via cheque then please
ensure that cheques are made payable to Mrs J
Nicholas. We do also accept cash too.
We cannot believe that we have been open for
nearly 8 months and now have over 40 pupils
registered! We are therefore incredibly proud of
everything that we have achieved as well as our
fantastic pupils who have already participated in
Rosette Examinations with the IDTA, performed in
a Derbyshire Dance Festival and attended our first
trip to the theatre!
We write to inform you of a few exciting events
that will be happening towards the end of May as
well as our end of year performance sharing in
July.
Firstly though, I would like to remind you all of the
class dates as there are a few amendments due to
Risley Village Memorial Hall being booked for
private functions. Unfortunately these booking
had been made prior to the Academy’s
permanent hire booking. Please therefore make a
note in your diary or calendars of the following
dates of where there will be NO CLASSES.

our Junior Performing Arts Pupils would love to
try Modern and Tap. Please see Miss Jackie or
Miss Natasha for further details.
New Classes!
While most of you think that we have been busy
eating chocolate eggs over Easter we have in fact
been planning on opening up a Borrowash
branch of Dynamicmotif and planning NEW
classes! Classes in Borrowash are due to start on
Monday 1st June at Borrowash Methodist Church
Hall.
www.dynamicmotif.co.uk
Borrowash Branch of Dynamicmotif!
Classes will include a Junior Dance Troup Class
which will work specifically on performance pieces
for shows and dance festivals as well as a Junior
Performing Arts Class. We also plan on offering a
Senior Dance Bites class where pupils will be
introduced to lots of different styles of Dance and
Movement and again will have the opportunity of
performing in Dance Festivals, Competitions and
Performances. For further details then please see
Miss Jackie or you can email us at
info@dynamicmotif.co.uk
The Junior Ballet Class will be £4.50 a class,
however if your Son/Daughter already attends
one of the other classes then this class will be
charged at half rate (£2.25). Please note that
these changes will take effect from 1st June 2015.
Please see Miss Jackie if you should have any
questions or queries.
IDTA Rosette Assessment Awards
Miss Jackie and Miss Natasha were both thrilled to
hear that Eloise Porter and Harriet Jackson both
passed their IDTA Ballet Beige Rosette and that
Tabatha Izzard achieved her Modern Green
Rosette. Once certificates and Rosettes arrive
from the examination board they will be
presented to pupils at the end of class. Our next
set of examinations and Rosette Assessments are
scheduled for October 2015. Details will be sent
out to all parents and pupils at the start of the
Autumn term.
New Classes at our Risley Branch!
As of Friday 5th June we will be offering 3 new
exciting classes. These include a Parent and
Toddler Ballet Class that is suitable for children
aged 1 year to 3 years of age and their parents.
This class will run from 11am – 11:45am and
works out at £4.00 a class with your first week
free of charge. For the 6 week half term the
charge is £20.00. Then at 12pm – 1pm we will be
offering a Weekend Wellbeing Exercise &
Relaxation class for adults of any age and ability.
These classes are £5.50 each or if you block pay
work out at £5.00 a class (£25.00 for 6 weeks).
Finally we will be holding a Junior Ballet Class
(grade 1 IDTA) for children aged 7 years and above
from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. We will therefore be
moving the Junior Performing Arts Class to
7:45pm – 8:30pm and then having the Senior
Performing Arts Class run from 8:30pm – 9:30pm.
Perform it Pink!
Some of you may be aware that two of Miss
Jackie’s friends have recently set up a trust called
‘Every Cloud’. Every Cloud raises funds for Derby
Breast Cancer Support Group who offers monthly
support meetings for anyone dealing with a
diagnosis of Breast Cancer.
www.dynamicmotif.co.uk
Miss Jackie is a committee member of DBCSG as
well as working for Every Cloud which raises
money to provide Breast Cancer patients with
luxury head scarves, hats and wigs as well as other
treats to help them through their tough treatment
regime.
On Friday 22nd May we will be holding a
fundraising evening called ‘Perform it Pink’. This
will run from 4:30pm – 8:30pm. All pupils are
invited to come to class dressed up in pink and
will demonstrate their class work as part of a mini
performance sharing. There will also be a raffle,
cake and biscuits to buy as well as lots of other
surprises! We hope that you will join us and help
us to raise as much money as possible for such a
worthy cause. If you would like to help in any way
please speak to Miss Jackie.
On Saturday 23rd May our Junior and Senior
Performing Arts groups have been invited to
perform their Footloose Dance piece at
‘Lodgestock’ in Alvaston, Derby. This is a family
fun day aiming to raise as much money for Derby
Breast Cancer Support Group via Every Cloud.
Miss Jackie is delighted that pupils of
Dynamicmotif have been invited to open the Fun
Day by performing one of their pieces. The event
starts at 3pm and pupils will need to arrive no
later than 2:00pm. Miss Jackie will be handing
letters out over the next couple of weeks to find
out who is available to take part.
We have also been invited to perform at this
years Cancer Research Relay for Life event held at
Moorways in Derby on Saturday 4th July. Miss
Jackie first participated in this event last year,
shortly after being diagnosed with Cancer. Miss
Jackie feels very honoured to have the Academy
perform as part of the Relay and also invites all
that attend to do a lap of honour around the track
with her as part of the relay. Further details of this
will be put in writing to you all. In the mean time

Trinity College London Examinations
From September 2015 we will begin the process
of working towards Drama performance
examinations. We therefore hope to have our first
set of examinations by early spring 2016 in which
pupils from the Junior and Senior Performing Arts
classes will be entered. Further details will be
handed out at the start of the new academic year
in September.
Finally a big Thank you!
May I take this opportunity to thank you all for
your continued support back in January when I
returned to work. At present I am awaiting
confirmation of my next two surgical procedures
as part of my reconstruction surgery. As soon as I
know more I will of course keep you all informed,
but do not expect this to take place until the latter
part of the year.
On behalf of Miss Natasha and I we hope that you
continue to enjoy our classes! If you would like to

Pupils of the Junior and Senior Performing Arts classes performing their Footloose Dance at Fusion
Dance Festival. Next year we hope that our Butterfly Ballerinas and Modern/Tap dancers will be
able to take part too!
On Monday 13th April Miss Jackie and members of
the Junior and Senior Performing Arts classes as well
as two of our Modern/Tap dancers attended the
Sing-a-Long Frozen show at the Royal Concert Hall in
Nottingham. Both pupils and parents that attended
all sung their hearts out and had a lovely time!
Friday 22nd May 2015 4:30pm – 8:30pm.
From Friday 17th April we will be presenting a
different pupil each week with the ‘Star of the
Week’ award in our Butterfly/Dragonfly Ballet
