2015 Schedule of Dues, Costs, and Fees
Effective May 1, 2015
Membership Class Descriptions
Regular Members consist of our core, dues-paying members who sustain the club. Dues are assessed
annually per the prices set forth in the schedule of dues, costs, and fees, as amended from time to time.
Active members enjoy the privileges of flight in any club aircraft, voting on any ballot measure, and are
eligible to serve as a club director or officer. Active members are also expected to work a minimum of four
duty shifts per year, as needed.
Probationary Members have joined, paid their first membership installment, and have not yet paid their
second membership fee installment. Probationary members enjoy full flight privileges, but cannot vote or
hold office. Upon one year of membership and payment of the second membership fee installment,
Probationary Members become Regular Members.
Inactive Members continue to receive club communications and exist on our roster, but do not have flight
or voting privileges unless returned to active, visiting, or transient status (see below). Regular Members are
involuntarily inactivated upon any past due balance of 60 days or more. Reactivation is subject to board
approval and payment of any balance, charges, and pro-rated annual dues assessment.
Transient Members are temporary or inactive members, residing beyond a reasonable distance to the club,
and who are visiting or working in the area for an extended time period (not to exceed 12 months).
Transient members are subject to board approval and enjoy full flight privileges, but cannot vote or hold
office. Requires payment of transient dues per the schedule of dues, costs, and fees, but no membership
charge is assessed. Transient dues are assessed monthly, payable and due in advance of flight.
Special Members are defined by the board of directors and subject to the prescriptions and restrictions in
the club bylaws or operating manual. Special members may not vote or hold office. Special member classes
include, but are not limited to, Honorary Members, Junior Members, Introductory Members, and Visiting
Members.
Duty Policy
All regular members are expected to contribute to the club’s financial and operational well-being by serving
occasional duty shifts, generally helping the glider operation at Pierson. The scheduling officer is responsible
for coordinating and scheduling members for duty shifts. If a member is unable to perform a duty shift due
to a schedule conflict or otherwise, that member is responsible for coordinating with another member and
the scheduling officer to cover the shift. Members who do not arrive (“no-show”) for a scheduled duty shift
will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the club.
