FLEUR-DE-LIS AWARD APPLICATIONS DUE
Attention those seniors who received an
application to apply for the Fleur-de-Lis Award.
Your completed application must be turned into
the Student Activities Office no later than Monday, April
6, 2014.
P-ARTS
The deadline for the P-ARTS senior arts
scholarship and undergraduate arts grants is
Monday, April 6th. You must be a current
member of P-ARTS to apply. Scholarship and
grant applications are available in the College and Career
Office.
PTO
The
2014-2015
PTO
Senior
Awards application is online at the school's
web site. (Under the "Our School" heading
click on "PTO") The PTO is giving away four $1,000 awards
to be used toward post high school education. If you have
a student who is a senior and plans to continue their
education, please be sure to have them apply. The
student’s parent/guardian must be a current/paid STCE
PTO member as of November 1, 2014. The applications are
available from Ms. Kobler in the Guidance Office, or
at http://east.d303.org/pto on the STCE web
site. Applications must be postmarked by April 6, 2015.
TUESDAY, APRIL 7
DRIVERS ED RANGE TO CLOSE
The Driver Ed. Range will be closed to Junior
parking April 7th through April 23rd.
COLLEGE VISIT
College visits in Section C of the LRC on Tuesday, April
7th include:
University of Minnesota—Twin Cities 11 am—12 pm
University of South Carolina
12 pm to 1 pm
See Ms. Kobler in the College and Career Office if you
need a pass.

WEDNESDAY IS AN STCE LATE START DAY
COLLEGE VISIT
On Wednesday, April 8th, a representative from the
University of Iowa will be in Section C of the LRC from
10 to 11 am.
ART CLUB
Attention Art Club members...please note that our next
Art Club meeting will be on Wednesday, April 8th,
from 2:30 - 4:00 pm in Room E162.
SPANISH CLUB
Spanish Club will meet in B200D on Wednesday, April
15th INSTEAD of April 8th at 2:30 pm.
ATTENTION SENIORS
Thinking about how to pay for college? Consider applying
for an Anna Daley – ―Fighting Saints‖ – Memorial
Scholarship. Selection will be based on, among other
considerations, the extent to which the applicant’s life
reflects the values by which Anna Daley lived her life.
Remember: the application deadline is April 8. See the

It's Spring Rush for RHO KAPPA, the National Social
Studies Honor Society at East High School! Brief
applications can be found with Mrs. Olson just off the
lobby near the faculty offices. Application materials are
due by April 10th. Email Mrs. Spyrnal or Mrs. Truax with
questions.
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Sandra Cisneros, Mindy
Kaling.....what do all of these women have in common? To
find out, stop by the LRC to peruse the new Women's
Literature section in honor of Women's History
Month!

ATTENTION ALL KEY CLUB MEMBERS
The Northern Illinois Food Bank needs 100 student
volunteers from St. Charles East. Volunteers will be
working in the community garden, planting seeds, trees,
and working outside. The Northern Illinois Food Bank
needs your help to grow and distribute fresh produce to
local organizations in need. If you couldn’t be there on
March 27th, there are still two dates for this event:
April 17th, and April 24th. If you have any questions,
contact Alexis Ortiz or Mrs. Saylors. Hope to see you
there.
SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration for traditional Summer School courses runs
through June 4th for Session 1. Register online at

DRILL TEAM TRYOUTS
Want to continue your love for dance in high school? Come
try out for the Saint Charles East 2015-2016 Varsity Drill
Team. Tryouts will be at Saint Charles East Monday, April
13th through Friday, April 17th. Please join us for a
parent/athlete informational meeting on Monday, April 6th
at 7 pm in the LRC at East High School. More information
can be found on the East Athletic Website under "Drill
Team." Hope to see you there.
SPRING CLEANING = SERVICE PROJECT!
The Class of 2015 is asking for unwanted pairs of shoes.
We are collecting them to benefit the AID organization,
who work with adults with developmental disabilities.
AID will earn 25 cents for every pound of shoes
collected. So, if you are planning on cleansing your closet
of shoes, give them to us and know that people in our
community will benefit greatly. We will begin collecting
right after Spring Break on April 6th. Collection bins
are located in the LRC, the Student Activities Office and
the Main Commons.
TRUNK FULL OF FUNK
Attention all performers, sign-ups for the April
16th Trunk Full of Funk are Monday, April 6
through Friday, April 10. Sign up on the East Homepage
by clicking the Trunk link or sign up in person after school
in the LRC on Friday. You may need to log in to your
school g-mail for this to work. Let's ring in the Spring
with the music you bring!
