Mont., 2 (2), 2015, 147-149 147 FIRST RECORD OF ELASMUCHA FERRUGATA FROM MONTENEGRO It is an Eurosiberian species so far known in Balkan Peninsula from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia (Protić 2001, 2010; Göllner-Scheiding 2006); in other European parts from Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia (European part), Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine; and in Asia from China (Northern, Northeastern and Southwestern Territories), Kazakhstan, Korea, Mongolia and Russia (West Siberia, East Siberia and Far East) (Göllner-Scheiding 2006; Aukema et al. 2013). This species lives on Vaccinium spp. (especially on V. myrtillus and also on V. vitis-idaea) in light forests and at forest edges; it was found occasionally also on other berry plants, e.g. on Grossularia, Ribes, Rubus, Prunus, Lonicera and Crataegus (Kerzhner 1972; Stehlík 1984; Wachmann et al. 2008). It hibernates in the adult stage, and active adults can be found at the end of April or the first half of May; the new generation of adults has been observed in August and September (Stehlík 1984). According to Stehlík (1984) in Moravia (Czech Republic) the species does not occur in plains (>260 m a.s.l.) but only in hilly, incidentally mountainous terrain up to 650 m a.s.l. Parental care and reproductive investments of three Elasmucha species, including E. ferrugata, was studied by Kaitala & Mappes (1997), informations about behaviour, oviposition and Pendergrast's organs of E. ferrugata (and other Acanthosomatidae) were summarized and updated by Fischer (2006) and Hanelová & Vilímová (2013). Keys of European species of the genus Elasmucha Stål, 1864 are given e.g. by Wagner (1966), Kerzhner (1972), Lis & Lis (1998), and Lis et al. (2012). New species for the fauna of Montenegro. Acknowledgements We would like to thank Ljiljana Protić (Natural History Museum, Belgrade) for help with occurrence data and to Petr Kment (National Museum, Prague) for providing literature. Special thanks from the first author goes to the project No. MUNI/A/1484/2014 for the support. References Aukema, B., Rieger, C. & Rabitsch, W.
