Secondary Language Arts Education
 Demonstration of competence of Phase I learning markers as demonstrated by satisfactory completion of Phase I
courses (LTC 1170: Orientation, grade of “S”; ESC_PS 2014 and LTC 2044, grade of “S” in each course;
ESC_PS 2010 and LTC 2040, grade of “C” (2.000) or higher in each course).
 Satisfactory completion of oral communication proficiency requirement by completing Communication 1200 (or
equivalent) with a C-range grade or higher; or pass the Principles of Public Speaking DSST exam.
 Satisfactory completion of English 1000 Exposition and Argumentation (or transferred equivalent) with a C-range
grade or higher
 Satisfactory completion of Math 1100: College Algebra (or transferred equivalent) with a C-range grade or higher
[Exemption from College Algebra requires an ACT Math subscore of 28 or higher. Math 1100 credit can be
earned with a proctored ALEKS exam score of 55% or above.]
