NIELSEN NATIONAL TV VIEW: PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
A Program Names Group can be used to identify specific programs, episodes, and/or trackages for inclusion in a report.
CREATE A PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
EXAMPLE – Create a list of 20/20 programs for use in future reports.
1.) In the Program Selection prompt, click the Program Names Tab.
2.) Click the Custom Program Names button.

3.) Type a name for your Program Name Group in the Workspace.
4.) Click the Plus sign (+) icon to add a row.

5.) Type in the program you want to system to search utilizing an asterisk (*) or wildcard.

20/20 – no wildcard, yields an exact match to the program name 20/20
*20/20 – an initial wildcard yields program names ending with 20/20
20/20* – a final wildcard yields programs that begin with 20/20
*20/20* – text string enclosed by wildcards yields program that contains 20/20 anywhere in the program name
6.) Click Save icon to save your Program Names Group.

Add a description and change Permissions if necessary.
Private – Group will be available only to you
Shared – Group will be available to everyone in your company
7.) Click Apply to save your Program Names Group.
8.) Click the X icon to close the window use for creating Program Names.

10.)Click Broadcast from the first column and ABC from the second column to filter results to 20/20 programs on ABC.

11.) Click the Program Names tab.
12.)Check the box next your Program Group Name, 2020 Names to select it.
13.)Click the Add button to add your Program Names to the Selected area and proceed with building your report.

TIP – View the results of the Program Names Group list before you submit the report.
1.) Click the Search tab.
2.) Click on Search button. Results of your Filters tab and Program Names selections will be displayed.
In this example, all programs on ABC that begins with 20/20.

EDIT A PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
1.) In the Program Selection prompt, click the Program Names tab.

3.) Check the box next to the Program Names Group you wish to edit.
4.) Click the Pencil icon.
5.) Make desired changes to the Program Names Group in the Workspace.
6.) Click the Save icon. Provide a name, description and choose Permissions for the the group.

7.) Click the Apply button to save edits to the Program Names Group.
8.) Click X icon at the top right of the screen to close the Custom
Program Names window.

BULK ADD PROGRAMS TO PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
In Program Selection prompt:

3.) Click the blue Bulk Add button.

4.) Enter Program Name(s), Episode Name(s) and/or Trackage Name(s) in the boxes.
5.) Click Save button and enter name, description and adjust Permissions, if necessary.

BULK ADD PROGRAMS TO PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
Another method to Bulk Add program names involves using the search feature. In the Program Selection prompt:
1.) Click the Search tab.
2.) Locate programs by performing a search using the Search button.
3.) Click the Export button.

4.) Identify programs in Excel and copy desired list using Ctrl+C. For example, copy programs into a another column.

5.) Follow steps for Bulk Add shown on page 6, and paste list into appropriate box.

6.) Click Save button and enter name, description and adjust Permissions, if necessary.

USE PROGRAM NAMES GROUP FOR EXCLUSION
EXAMPLE – Create a list of all ABC programs except programs with “awards” in the program name.
1.) In the Program Selection prompt, click the Filters tab.
2.) Select Originator Type: Broadcast.
3.) Originator: ABC.
4.) Daypart: Broadcast Prime.

7.) Enter a name for your Program Names Group.
8.) Click the Plus sign (+) icon.
9.) Enter an asterisk wildcard (*) in the Program Name field.
10.)Click drop-down and change boolean operator to NOT.

11.) Click the Plus sign (+) icon to add another row.
12.)Enter *awards* in the Program Name field.
13.)Click Save button and enter name, description and adjust Permissions, if necessary.

16.)Check the box next to your Program Group Name = All Pgm Excluding Awards to select it.
17.)Click the Add button to add your Program Names to the Selected area and proceed with building your report.

SHARE A PROGRAM NAMES GROUP
If you have a saved Program Names Group and now wish to share it with colleagues in your organization,
you can do so by updating the Permissions for the group.
1.) Follow steps for editing a Program Names Group, as shown on page 5.
2.) During Step #6, click the Permissions drop-down and change it from Private to Shared.
3.) Click the Apply button.
4.) Click X icon at the top right of the screen to close the Custom Program Names window.
