Escafeld TSA’s Specialist Leaders of Education Jenny Bows (Subject Leader for Art /Leadership Coach at Tapton School) Working with subject leaders to improve provision and outcomes for students; leadership and development of teaching and learning; working with aspirant middle leaders. Examples of work to date: Planning and sequencing of feedback to improve progress; working within primary to develop confidence in using a creative approach to teaching and learning in the classroom. Alison Dennis (Assistant Principal, Longley Park Sixth Form College) Transition from KS4 to KS5, ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality teaching and learning; developing effective QA processes. Examples of work to date: Improving quality of teaching, learning and student experience Post 16; focused intervention to identify and rectify disparity in performance. Sarah Drazek (Assistant Head, Dore Primary School) Improving teaching and learning, primary curriculum, supporting NQTs, developing leaders. Examples of work to date: Supporting ‘satisfactory’ teachers in an AST role, providing teaching and learning support to NQTs, development of AFL strategies and initiatives. Jason Fletcher (Deputy Head/Inclusion Leader, Dore Primary School) Special educational needs and inclusion in primary. Examples of work to date: National SENCO qualification and Dyslexia Specialist Teacher Award, CPD and workshops around collaboration with support staff and dyslexic friendly teaching and learning, led a speech and language programme. Harkiran Grewal (Assistant Headteacher, Tapton School) Leadership of KS4 Progress and intervention strategies; narrowing the gap in KS3 and KS4; using data to support teaching and learning. Examples of work to date: Lead discussion with progress leaders across the city on tracking and levelling; moderation of lesson observations at other schools. Ruth Hollingsworth (Head of English, King Ecgbert School) Literacy and cross curricular development, coaching to lead staff development, 4 Levels of Progress at KS4, subject OFSTED inspection. Examples of work to date: Recognition of ‘outstanding subject leadership’ in OFSTED inspection, progress in student attainment, redesign of KS3, strategic exam entry. Lisa Huckerby (Subject Leader for English, Tapton School) Leadership and development of English departments; literacy at whole school level; English teaching and learning. Examples of work to date: Work with schools on their whole school literacy policy; development of new reading and writing levels; support with A Level Literature and GCSE exam technique. Jane King (KS1 Phase & Literacy Leader, Hillsborough Primary School) Coaching and mentoring, NQT development, English and phonics development, achieving independent learning across KS1. Examples of work to date: Led English developments in school, established and monitored effective practice, coaching other leaders, part of Outstanding Teacher Project. Examples of work to date: Formal/informal staff coaching, studying to MA Level, using action research in the classroom, effective use of learning walks, former AQA examiner. Teresa Minnis (KS2 Leader responsible for Maths across school, Hillsborough Primary School) KS2 Maths in Primary schools, school to school support to improve Teaching and Learning. Examples of work to date: Worked alongside HMI on an Outstanding Teacher project, mentoring and coaching, development of Maths curriculum across KS1 and KS2. Emma Northin (Subject Leader for Music, Tapton School) Music across all key stages; developing creative curriculums; strings and World Music (Gamelan, Samba, African Drumming). Examples of work to date: Work with primary and secondary schools; transition projects involving strings and WOPS; cross phase Gamelan Workshops and concert performance in partnership with Sheffield Music Hub. Katie Shepherd (Assistant Head, Nether Edge Primary School) Improving teaching and learning across Primary, mathematics specialism, development of new curriculum in Maths, assessment techniques. Examples of work to date: Coaching and mentoring particularly in maths, supporting NQTs and trainees, participation in two Outstanding Teacher Programmes. Kirsty Smith (Second in Maths, Newfield School) Attainment in Maths for KS3 and KS4, teaching and learning in Maths. Examples of work to date: CPD delivery in teaching and learning, coaching within Maths, development of SOW to challenge G&T in LS4, intervention groups with aim of closing the gap, mentoring of NQTs. Paul Stanton (Assistant Head, Wales High School) Responsibility for more able students cohort, induction and support of NQTs, AQA examiner, advisor and moderator for A Level English Literature, KS5 specialism. Examples of work to date: Extensive experience of leading English, developed English management team, drama methodology, sustained increase of pass rates at GCSE. Examples of work to date: Developing CPD systems and structures to improve Teaching and Learning; programmes for both existing middle leaders and aspirant leaders. Becci Thorpe (Assistant Head - Achievement For All, Tapton School) Closing attainment gaps, progress of key student cohorts, school to school support.
