Evendale Cultural Arts Center Encouraging Creativity and Community Spring/Summer 2015 2015 exhibition schedule EVENDALE FINE ART EXHIBIT More than 80 artists are exhibiting original artworks in this show juried by local artist Nancy Nordloh Neville. There is an exciting mix of works from both seasoned and emerging artists in this diverse show. This exhibit serves to promote and encourage the appreciation of art in our local community; it provides a public forum for area artists to share ideas, sell and exhibit their artwork. MISSION 31 PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT FEATURINGTHE WORKS OF CARRIE VONDERHAAR In June 2014, Fabien Cousteau and his team of aquanauts embarked on Mission 31, the longest science expedition to take place at Aquarius, the world’s only underwater marine laboratory 63 feet beneath the sea. Fabien’s Mission 31 broke new ground in ocean exploration and honored the 50th anniversary of his grandfather’s original underwater living experiment by going deeper, longer and further, while broadcasting each moment thus exposing the world to the adventure, drama and mystique of what lies beneath. We are thrilled to present photography and film footage from this groundbreaking expedition featuring former resident Carrie Vonderhaar and Matt Ferraro, both of whom accompanied Photo by Carrie Vonderhaar this amazing expedition. The woodcutter finds himself torn between doing what he feels is right and following the social norms. Will he follow the rules, or follow his heart? In this class, you will paint a portrait in oils from photos you take. You’ll use Photoshop to create a series of prints to use as reference. We will address composition, establish light and shadow, determine values, and create a harmonious color scheme.
