agreement for housing is between the student and the housing provider, and not between both parties and the University
of California.
Please make sure when signing a lease that you are planning to stay for the length of the lease (whether it’s 4 months, 6
months, or 1 year). Breaking a lease (leaving early) is a serious legal matter and should not be taken lightly.

STUDENT RESIDENCES
A student residence has a dormitory-like housing environment. It gives students the opportunity to meet new people while
usually providing more amenities than a regular apartment building. Students can choose to rent a single room or share a
room with one or two other persons. We recommend the following student residences. They feature monthly and weekly
rates, complimentary continental breakfast, community kitchens and dining rooms, and weekly housekeeping. Rooms include
mini-fridge, microwave, cable TV, free wifi, and linens/towels. Please check their websites for terms and conditions.
Vantaggio Suites has three buildings to choose from in three different downtown locations. Rates range from $650/month for
triple occupancy to $1900/month for a deluxe private double. Credit cards are required to hold a room (Visa & Master Card
accepted). There will be a $100 charge for a cancellation of 3 or more days after confirmation; you can make reservations
online.
USA Student Residences is located 3 blocks from Union Square and is connected to USA Hostels San Francisco. It features
weekly activities, a recreation room, movie theatre, yoga studio, coin-operated laundry. Rates range from $1,200/month for a
shared room w/hall bath to $2,300/month for a private room and bath. There is a $100 charge for cancellations within 2
weeks of arrival.
Paramount Student Housing also has three buildings to choose from in three different downtown locations. Rates range
from approximately $900/month for a shared room w/hall bath to $1,900/month for a private room and bath. There is a $100
charge for cancellations within 2 weeks of arrival.
