In order to meet established conference deadlines for STAR Event Registrations and Lodging, the Colorado Deadline for National Leadership Conference commitment is April 30, 2015 and payment received deadline of May 15, 2015. The following is REQUIRED to submit to the State Office to attend the conference: • Colorado_NLC_Attendance_Template.xlsx • Payment for LODGING and TRANSPORTATION You MAY complete the following through the State Office: • Airline Flights for those booked through the State Office (see below) • Trading Pins (see below) The following are the responsibility for the chapter to complete: • Individual Online Conference Registration/ STAR Events – to register and pay with National Office • Airline Flights • Optional Additional Tours Please estimate that the total cost per person to attend the National Leadership Conference is $1,200 - $1,500 (Lodging $300600 + Flight $400-700 + STAR Event Fee $45+ Registration $277-290 (includes special event and gala) + additional activities and spending). Colorado FCCLA has the following deadlines in order for your chapter to attend the conference: • Wednesday, April 30, 2015 o NLC Online Registration completed by adviser Submit one evaluator or room consultant for every 3 participants o Colorado_NLC_Attendance_Template.xlsx completed and emailed to the State Office When you are completing the Colorado Attendance Excel Spreadsheet, be sure to completely fill out the SPREADSHEET indicating per person fees: 1) Diet Need – complete only if need special meals at the gala or special event 2) Polo Size – all delegates receive a polo 3) Airfare – if purchasing through state office or can purchase on your own 4) Lodging – based on occupancy of the room 5) Metro Pass – not optional and is a 7 day Metro Pass for travel around DC 6) Trading Pins – Colorado FCCLA trading pins for conference Please send a copy of the Colorado Attendance Excel Spreadsheet with your payment (must be RECEIVED by Friday, MAY 15, 2015) to: Colorado FCCLA c/o The Business Manager, LLC 8101 E. Please be advised that there is a 4% convenience fee for paying by credit card. National Conference Registration should be done online (www.fcclainc.org) by April 30, 2015. Each person attending must be registered for the conference. A sample registration form is included in this packet strictly for planning purposes. National FCCLA must receive your payment by June 15, 2015 or you will not be allowed to pick up registration packets at NLC. Competitive Events: Colorado FCCLA will pick up all Colorado FCCLA STAR Event Registration Packets for chapters. Please be advised that a chapter will have to have 1 volunteer per 3 STAR Event participants. All information regarding orientations (not mandatory but will incur a loss of points), competition times, and volunteer assignments will be available via the national FCCLA website in June 2015. Portfolio events will be required to use the FCCLA binder or will be subject to a loss of points at NLC. Transportation: All Colorado Delegates will receive a Metro Pass (DC subway system) good July 4 – July 10, 2015 at $38.00 per person. This will be your transportation from the airport (Ronald Reagan National Airport only) to the hotel. Chapters may use this all week at their convenience. It is valid for seven consecutive days of unlimited rides on WMATA Metrorail for trips costing up to $3.60 when peak fares (M-F 5-9:30am/ 3-7pm) are in effect. During these times, if your trip costs more than $3.60, the additional charge will be deducted from the card's stored value. There is no charge for rail trips at other times. Chapters that fly into Dulles International Airport, there is an addition $10.00 per person fee (round trip) for ground transportation in order to use the ground transportation to and from the airport that will be your responsibility. State Meetings: All Colorado State Meetings at NLC are MANDATORY for all Colorado Delegates and Advisers to attend. The first State Meeting is Sunday, July 5 at 8:45 – 9:45pm and this is the only time you may pick up you state polo and STAR Events Registration. The second State Meeting is Tuesday, July 7 at 5:00 – 5:45pm. Advocacy Event: The Advocacy Event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8 from 8:30 – 11:30 am on the West Lawn of the Capital Building. All NLC attendees will be having breakfast with their legislators to support FCCLA@theTable. More information will be released in June 2015. MEALS: Delegates will be financially responsible for 15 to 18 meals at NLC. Please note that meals are sometimes provided with tours and special events. Additional Tours: All tours must be registered for online so you will do this individually as a chapter. See the FCCLA website for complete tour information and availability. Code of Conduct Form: Each student attending NLC must have the NLC Attendance Permission Slip and Colorado Code of Conduct signed. Advisers are required to have them with them at all times. Medical Release: It is required that in addition to the original copy of the medical release carried by the adviser of each chapter and each delegate should have a copy of their medical release on their person at all times. A reduced size is acceptable. Emergency medical assistance is available by dialing the hotel operator. Thank you for all of your diligence as we prepare for the 2015 National Leadership Conference.
