Our 1st Annual Barks and Beaches fundraiser is being held October
March 31, 2015 Dear Business Owner: Our 1st Annual Barks and Beaches fundraiser is being held October 24, 2015 from 10 am to 4 pm at Abacoa Town Center. This event celebrates the 21st anniversary of Friends of Jupiter Beach and is a family-friendly, dog- friendly event encompassing all things dogs and beaches. It will have food, music, vendors, pet adoptions, dog wash, agility demonstrations, pet contests, Doggie Fun Zone, safety demonstrations, children’s activities, free bicycle helmets, and much more! Founded in 1994, Friends of Jupiter Beach is a 501 (c)(3) community organization whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally healthy, clean, and dog friendly beaches in Jupiter, Florida through volunteerism and education. Volunteers from every facet of the community clean a 2.5 mile span of beach from north of the Juno Beach Pier to Carlin Park in Jupiter each month. Since the group began counting in 2006, we’ve collected and saved more than 50,000 lbs. of garbage and recyclables from the landfill. FJB sends out a monthly E- newsletter, participates in civic events and uses the electronic media to spread its environmental message. In addition, FJB provides 400,000 dog bags a year, and maintains the boxes in which they are contained, for use by the beach-going public at 35 dog bag stations along Jupiter Beach. FJB has recently formed a Young Friends of Jupiter beach group to engage high school students and teach them good stewardship of the environment. Although FJB has been recognized with achievement awards from both the Town of Jupiter and Palm Beach County, it receives no government funding of any kind and is supported solely through fundraisers and donations from an appreciative public. We thank you in advance for your support in participating as a vendor at this year’s Barks and Beaches benefiting the Friends of Jupiter Beach. Please complete and return the enclosed form.
