Forces at KS4 - St Marylebone School
Forces at KS4
St Marylebone CE School
Tuesday 16th June 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Science teachers from schools within reach of London are invited to a FREE TO
ATTEND INSET event at St Marylebone School, W1U 5BA main site (A) location.
Jon Clarke, Teaching and Learning Coach for the Stimulating Physics Network, will be
leading the second of a series of sessions. This will focus on:
 Supporting non-specialist teachers
of physics teaching forces at KS4 –
do you find that, like many
teachers of physics, your students
tend struggle to identify which
arrows belong on a diagram?
 A fun opening activity – can you
swing a glass beaker full of water
over your head on a tray?!
 Difficulties students have with
learning forces & motion.
 A series of practical activities,
including
at
least
one
demonstration for each of
Newton’s three laws of motion.
 Sharing of best practice from our last session.
Please spread the word – we are hoping for a good turn-out of teachers to attend this new
CPD opportunity. This will be the second of a series of training opportunities which
participants can help to develop. Each session is discrete.
Light refreshments will be provided and the event is completely free of charge.
Booking is essential by contacting Emma Curties: e.curties@stmaryleboneschool.com
