The Regina Symphony Orchestra gratefully acknowledges Crown Investment Corporation for making Build the
Band Program possible this year through their generous contributions.
The Build the Band program was established in 2011 in collaboration with Regina Public Schools to create
opportunities for students in performance, songwriting and arts management. RSO musicians have worked with
the local school concert band in their individual band sections where local musician Richie Pollack has worked with
the singer song writers in producing their own songs and a CD. The RSO administrative team has worked with 30
students in areas of strategic marketing, financial planning and fundraising for producing a final Build the Band
concert.
The Build the Band program is beneficial to schools in Regina and the RSO’s aims to create a network of schools
and bands that allow students to share experiences, work collaboratively on various projects, and have access to
RSO’s informational and educational resources. The Build the Band program encourages schools to enhance their
music programs and resources in order to provide students with high-level music education.
