FORGET ABOUT FORGETTING: TARGETING BELIEFS, STIGMA, AND STRUCTURAL BARRIERS IN HIV TREATMENT ADHERENCE INTERVENTIONS Seth Kalichman, Ph.D. Center for Health, Intervention, and Prevention (CHIP) University of Connecticut ■ Dr. Kalichman is a Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Connecticut and Director of the Southeast HIV/AIDS Research & Evaluation (SHARE) Project. ■ His research focuses on social and behavioral aspects of AIDS, particularly sexual risk behavior intervention research in the US and South Africa and is supported by the NIH. ■ He was the recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology in Health awarded by the American Psychological Association and Distinguished Scientist Award from the Society for Behavioral Medicine. ■ He is the Editor of the journal AIDS and Behavior and the author of five books, most recently Denying AIDS: Conspiracy Theories, Pseudoscience, and Human Tragedy published by Springer/Copernicus Books.
