Proyecta 100,000 Field Trips: Group 4 The program at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) offers exciting field trips to its Proyecta participants at no additional cost. Three field trips are offered: Hollywood Tour, Universal Studios, and Ontario Mills Outlet Mall. Participants who wish to join the field trips must sign up during orientation. CSUSB may modify field trips as needed. Hollywood Tour October 30, 2015 (8:00 am – 8:00 pm) Hollywood is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California - situated west-northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. Due to its fame and cultural identity as the historical center of movie studios and movie stars, the word "Hollywood" is often used as a metonymy of American cinema, and is often interchangeably used to refer to the greater Los Angeles area in general. The nicknames Star Struck Town and Tinsel town refer to Hollywood and its movie industry. Today, much of the movie industry has dispersed into surrounding areas such as the Westside neighborhood, but significant auxiliary industries, such as editing, effects, props, post-production and lighting companies remain in Hollywood, as does the back lot of Paramount Pictures. Protected by its 40-foot high curved walls and copper-topped turrets, the theatre’s legendary forecourt serves as an oasis to the stars of yesterday and today and is the most sought-after theatre in Hollywood for studio premieres. Rich in movie tradition, with its cement celebrity handprints and footprints, the Chinese Theater welcomes more than four millions visitors from all over the world every year. FARMER’S MARKET The Farmers Market features more than 100 restaurants, grocers, and tourist shops, and is located just south of CBS Television Studios. Unlike most farmers' markets, which are held only at intervals, the Farmers' Market of Los Angeles is a permanent installation and is open seven days a week. It is located adjacent to The Grove outdoor shopping mall with an electric-powered streetcar that runs between the two sites. The market is a destination for foodies in search of the market's ethnic cuisines, its specialty food markets, and its prepared-food stalls. RODEO DRIVE From world-renowned fashion houses to one-of-a-kind local boutiques, Beverly Hills offers a shoppers’ paradise located within a compact, easily walkable area known as the Golden Triangle. Experience world-famous Rodeo Drive where you'll find Prada, Gucci, Valentino, Armani, Dior and Cartier. Discover the crown jewel in the heart of Beverly Hills, Two Rodeo Drive, with quaint cobblestone walkways leading you to the likes of Versace, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and Tiffany. Blocks east of Rodeo, shop Beverly and Cañon Drives with local boutiques, unique luxury shops, fantastic Beverly Hills restaurants and open-air cafés. 2 CSUSB Proyecta 100,000 Field Trips: Group 4 Universal Studios Hollywood November 6, 2015 (8:00 am – 8:00 pm) Get ready for the ultimate Hollywood experience!
