VBS Spring Seminar & Scholarship
Recipients
Goh Ballet Academy is pleased that many students took part in The Vancouver
Ballet Society’s Spring Seminar program. For over 30 years, this program has
striven to expose Vancouver’s dancers to many esteemed instructors from
around the globe through its Spring Seminar.
We hope all our students who attended had a wonderful time and learned
something new. We would also like to take a moment to congratulate all the
scholarship winners from the Spring Seminar. Thank you for representing Goh
Ballet so well! Congratulations to: Sebastian Fairley, Ichiro Yoshino, Michelle
Khoo, Chihiro Abe, Sara Carver and Rachel Gibbs.
Summer Programs 2015
Do you have plans for the summer? At the Goh Ballet Academy, we will be
offering our International Summer Intensive from July 6th to August 8th. All
Goh Ballet Academy students will be receiving information on which summer
levels they have been placed into on Priority Registration Day (Sunday, April
26th).
We strongly encourage all Goh Ballet students to join a summer program as it
is a way to continue training and learning through July - August. Students
who attend the program will receive invaluable instruction from Gregor
Hatala, former Principal Dancer and Ballet Master at the Vienna State Opera.
With Mr. Hatala’s experience in teaching and choreographing, students under
his tutelage will gain valuable knowledge. Learning with Mr. Hatala and our
many other international guest instructors is a rare opportunity that should
not be missed.
For those between the ages of 4 – 6, we are still accepting registration for
our Children’s Summer Dance Workshops. These workshops require no
previous dance experience so if your child has a friend from outside Goh
Ballet who would like to participate, please feel free to invite them to register
as well! All workshops are still accepting registrations – including Frozen!

Festival Presentation – March 30th
On Monday, March 30th, our students were given a great opportunity to
perform each of their pieces in front of an audience to help them better
prepare for the Surrey Festival of Dance. The evening was a great success
and we would like to thank the Scotiabank Dance Centre for their
hospitality and to all of our junior and senior parents for their continued
support. We look forward to seeing all of our students perform their final
pieces in April!
We would also like to take a moment to congratulate the award recipients
of the Spirit and Passion awards. These students have expressed great
enthusiasm and dedication and they have improved greatly since they
started rehearsing. Congratulations to: Gabrielle Castellianos, Oafe
Cheung, Giorgia Taddei, Grace Bianchin, Michella O’Brian, Tamira Mitchell,
Caitlyn Woo, Kristi Low, Matthew Ma, Ying Nan Shi, Emma Ng, Rachel
Gibbs and Letizia Dotto!
