This appeal helps build community within the Church and works for the common good of Catholics in the United States. A portion of the collection also supports the effort by the Church for Black and Native American Indians. Please visitwww.usccb.org/hm for more information. Music Ministry Notes Thank you for your continued musical participation! All are invited to join in the musical preparations for the Friday May 1st Confirmation Mass. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays April 21 and April 28 at 7:45pm in the church. Please respect the space of the musical ministers at Mass. The area of seats sectioned off by the white iron rails near the piano is for choir members and musicians that participate in weekly rehearsals ONLY. St. Vincent de Paul News HOORAY! Father Leon came and blessed our new addition and gave us a beautiful Crucifix to put up and a picture of the Divine Mercy to help us to continue to serve our clients with compassion and kindness. We are thrilled with the new addition! This week we were able to serve 60 families consisting of 182 people with 260 boxes of food. We still have to purchase meat as the Food Banks we purchase from are not able to distribute much meat these days as there as so many people in Sacramento County who are food insecure. Within 2 weeks we will have a shed, located near SVDP closet where you will be able to drive up and drop off donations OTHER THAN FOOD into the shed. Again, we ask that once the shed is up, NOTHING BUT FOOD be left in the Narthex wagon for SVDP. We have a client who needs a microwave if someone has one to donate. Thank you again to Fr. Leon for his generosity toward SVDP and the food and clothing insecure population of Elk Grove. We are always in need of volunteers on Monday mornings. Please contact Laura Wade and Angela Banbury at kinderchurch@gscceg.org with any questions. CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD CLOW is a parent participation ministry staffed solely by volunteers for 1st4th graders which takes place during Sunday 9am, 11am, and 5pm Masses. Father calls up the children AFTER the Opening Prayer and we process the children to the Parish Center for our class. The children return at the end of the Homily so they can participate in Holy Communion. Please email clow@ gscceg.org for more information if you would like to volunteer as a Catechist or assistant . Stewardship at Good Shepherd Grow our Gifts…Share our Blessings Stewardship of Treasure Our collection total for April 11th/12th = $17,957.08 Building Fund = $8,084.27 Thank you for your generous support. Your ongoing donations are essential in helping us meet the many needs of the parish and community.
