Well... Tax Day is done and pollen is upon us! It is so nice
to see the lovely signs of Spring and our Community coming
alive with all the Spring blooms - the pollen, not so much!
We've had lots of activity going on at Hamstead Crossing, in
spite of the winter weather.

Kudos to our Maintenance staff for sprucing up our entrance signs - new paint for
both signs and the replacement of the light fixture on the 5500 side!! It certainly
is nice to be able to see the sign again at night when coming down Duraleigh.
All of our dumpsters have been replaced.
Trees and limbs that came down with the winter ice and wind storms were
cleared. New batches are awaiting pick-up.
A major sewage problem was fixed on the 5600 side.
Repair and painting prep work began on building 5500-5508 as weather permitted.
The actual painting has now started and is looking great!
Spring Yard Sale
Mark Your Calendar!!! Several neighbors are organizing a Spring
Yard Sale to be held Saturday May 16, 2015 from 7:00 am to 12:00
noon. The more to participate the merrier - and the more things will
likely be sold! So... gather up all those things you've been meaning
to "do something with", figure out the prices (the lower the better
for sales), mark your items, and get ready for the day! More
information to follow - watch for notices in e-mail, on the web site, and posted around the
neighborhood! For information, contact Felicia at 919-274-8364 or e-mail

AC units: Please schedule a spring check of your air conditioning unit. This will
help ensure that you are not without AC when summer arrives and it is HOT, HOT,
HOT. Don't forget to change the Air Filters on a regular schedule!
Remember to schedule annual Termite Inspections. Termite damage is being
discovered as maintenance work is done. Homeowners are responsible for the

cost of inspection, prevention, treatment & repairs and repairs can become quite
costly!
Carbon Monoxide and Smoke/Fire Detectors: Check the batteries (good idea to
change them twice a year when the time changes). Check to see if any of the units
have an expiration date - some do! Replace if needed.
Check washing machine hoses that are over 5 years old as they may dry and crack
causing a water leak.
Check your water heater - with the tanks upstairs, any leak can become costly and
require extensive home repair.
Note: Many companies offer an annual plumbing inspection which will include a check for
both of these water problems.
Reminder for Homeowners
