wear makeup ...don’t let it wear you! You’ve been wearing the same makeup since 1980 and you're ready to change it up. Keep in mind that the goal is to emphasize your natural beauty: you want someone to notice how good you look, not what color eyeshadow you are wearing. Here are a few tips: Only emphasize one feature at a time: your eyes or your lips, not both or you’ll be sporting the overdone beauty queen look. When wearing red or dark lips, pair it with a very natural eye- I used a shimmery Ivory with simple liner and lots of mascara on the eye with this crisp red lip. I prefer a matte red lip for a more modern look plus it lasts longer than a glossy choice. by Kim Reyes DC Makeup Artist www.kimreyesmakeup.com model Claire Wright represented by T.H.E Artist Agency makeup Kim Reyes photography & styling Amy Jones www.amyjphoto.com 9 3Harford STYLE Spring 20154 When wearing a darker or smoky eye look try a nude or lighter shimmery lip: we say “nude" but really mean a lighter peach, pink or brown a shade darker than your actual skin tone. model Claire Wright represented by T.H.E Artist Agency makeup Kim Reyes www.kimreyesmakeup.com photography & styling Amy Jones www.amyjphoto.com 103www.harfordstyle.com4 For blush, pick natural shades that have a neutral tone: anything too pink, red or magenta will never look natural on your cheeks. Try pinky browns, peach, brick (for darker skin complexions). Feel free to experiment with lip and eye shadows. If you use a light hand, makeup should be like wardrobe: you don’t have to wear the same thing everyday!
