Certificated Application for the 2015 Summer School Programs:
Please return to: Kathy Bishop at Administrative Center by Friday, March 27, 2015 for priority hiring.
Applications will continue to be accepted until April 27, 2015.
The rate of pay for this year's summer school is $34.00 per hour.
Please note that this is not an offer of employment, it is an application. Summer school teachers will be selected from applications
received, once enrollment projections become firm. Teachers selected for summer school employment will be notified of their tentative
selection by April 17th or earlier. Actual employment as a summer school teacher will occur for those classes that develop sufficient
actual enrollment. Should attendance in a class decline below established minimums during the session, classes may be combined and
the services of certain teachers may be terminated.
Summer School teachers will be paid by Opportunities For Learning and will have to also complete a separate application if selected. OFL
does not pay into STRS. Paid sick leave is not offered to teachers during summer school. Summer school absences will not affect your
Attendance Incentive Reward Program. Due to the short duration of the summer school, attendance each day of the term is expected. The
District reserves the right to schedule vacations at times least disruptive to normal work routines.
A Mandatory Meeting is scheduled at Placerita JHS (4/22/15 @ 3:30), Valencia HS (4/23/15 @ 3:30) and Golden Valley
HS (4/24/15 @ 3:30) to complete hiring paperwork. Please plan to attend one of these meetings.
You will be compensated for two hours.
Summer School Programs:
 20 days – July 1, to July 29, 2015 – Regionalized Special Education Program (SC2, SC3, SC5, SC7, SC8, TLC)
 22 days – July 1, to July 31, 2015 – General Education Summer School Program (Including RS, SC1 & SC4)
