2015 Re(MIX) Your Recipe Contest
OFFICIAL ENTRY RULES
TO ENTER
o The recipe ingredients should be listed in order of use in the recipe.
o No abbreviations allowed; spell out items such as: tablespoon, teaspoon,
and cup.
o If a can or purchased food item is used, include weight of item, such as:
1 can tomatoes (14 ounces) or 4 stalks of celery
Method of preparation should be clearly written.
o Complete cooking or baking times and temperature, and the size of pots,
pans and dishes should be included.
o Recipe should be on 8-1/2” x 11” paper, preferably typewritten.
o Recipes should serve 4-6 persons.
Limit of one entry per organization.
ONLY ONE FIRST PLACE PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED.
(NOTE – MUSC employees or students are not eligible)

RECIPE JUDGING
Re(MIX) Your Recipe
This year, we are giving you two main
ingredients. Dish must include one or
both ingredients.

MAIN INGREDIENTS
1. Sweet Potato
An inexpensive starchy
vegetable that is low in
calories and high in
nutritional value.
2. Chicken
A southern staple and good
source of protein. Dish can
not contain fried chicken.
CRITERIA
(Prepared dishes will be judged on
the following)
• Taste
• Creativity
• Presentation
• Recipe
(low in fat, calories, and sodium)
PRIZES PER CATEGORY
• 1st Prize ................ $300
• 2nd Prize ............... $150
• The People’s Choice... $50
• Prepared dishes should be brought to Trident Technical College Conference Center, 7000 Rivers Avenue,
Building 920, North Charleston SC 29406 between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Judging will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. All dishes must be picked up by 8:30 PM.
• All entries become the exclusive property of the Community Compass Project’s Healthy Eating and Active
Lifestyle Program and will not be returned. Submission of entry constitutes permission for the Community
Compass Project to use the entry, including recipes, for editorial, advertising or promotional purposes
without further compensation.
