BCCCP News
This is a crucial point in our fiscal year. We are currently at 21% of our caseload.
This provides us with the opportunity to reach out to women that we have not
previously served.
Eligibility Reminder:
Free
Screenings

The newest category of clients we can assist is women under 40 who have had an
abnormal breast exam.

We can also assist women who have insurance but require diagnostics and have a
deductible that applies.

We can serve clients who do not have insurance, even if they qualify for Healthy
Michigan or the Marketplace.

Care
Please make sure that you are using the 2015 poverty guidelines when determining
eligibility for the program. Clients must be under 250% of the federal poverty level to be
eligible for BCCCP. The guidelines can be found at www.michigancancer.org/bcccp/

The Health Insurance Marketplace is providing individuals and families who are subject
to the fee when they file their 2014 taxes with one last chance to get covered for 2015.
This special enrollment period ends April 30.

Not eligible for BCCCP if enrolled in Medicare B, Medicaid or Healthy Michigan Plan
*
Michigan resident. (Some exceptions apply to the residency requirement such as migrant worker status.)

Must meet the income guidelines.
Income must fall below 250% of the federal poverty guideline to qualify:

Women Over 40:

Uninsured: If patient does not have insurance and falls within the income guidelines, they are eligible for a free pelvic exam,
Pap smear, breast exam and mammogram at a participating clinic.

Underinsured: (Has insurance but plan applies deductible for diagnostic exams.) Must meet the income guidelines and have
original breast exam and mammogram results sent to BCCCP office to determine eligibility. BCCCP would be billed as a
secondary insurance coverage.
Women Under 40:

Must have an abnormal clinical breast exam. Please contact our office for additional information.
