Children’s Ministry
Current and Future Volunteers
In August, we will begin recruiting volunteers for this coming
school year. If you would like to be a part of our Children’s
Ministry (Nursery, KidsPointe, LIFE classes, Awana), it’s not
too early to begin our Child Protection screening
process.
Please
see
or
email
Erin
Wyman
(erin@highpointeaustin.org) to get started. We will be losing
several key children’s workers to our new church plant, so your
willingness to serve is very much appreciated.
Note: All children and youth workers must be a member of
High Pointe for at least 6 months, have a cleared background
check, including personal references, and complete our online
Child Protection training.
If you are currently serving, but will be unable to continue
during this coming school year, please contact Erin Wyman
(erin@highpointeaustin.org) to let her know. Those who will be
moving on to serve in our Cedar Pointe church plant should
also let Erin know as soon as possible.
Becoming a Pointe of Light
August 2
Praying for God to provide you opportunities to spread the
gospel weekly? That opportunity lies right down the street
within 3 miles of High Pointe Baptist Church. If you are
sincerely interested in being a POINTE of Light for Christ and
in so doing making a positive and lasting impact on the life of a
child, plan to attend a meeting on August 2 right after the
morning service. Information will be provided on a
MENTORING program High Pointe Baptist Church will be
providing at Dessau Middle School as a means of reaching out
to our immediate community. Ben Wright, Julie Giles and
Nancy Benson will be sharing information and tips from their
mentoring experiences. If you cannot be present on August 2,
please contact Nancy Benson for further information.
Multi-Family Back-to-School Yard Sale
Saturday, August 8, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
Are your closets, drawers, cabinets, storage unit and/or garage
filled with things you are not using? If the items are gently
used, why not let them live in someone else’s home for a
spell? High Pointe will host a Mult-Family Yard Sale for Backto-School this year. The hope is that we will be able to serve
our neighbors by providing bargain goods before they start their
Back-to-School shopping.
You and your family can sell items, donate tents for shade, and/
or volunteer to serve that day.
Event: Multi-Family Back-to-School Yard Sale
When: Saturday, August 8, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where: High Pointe Baptist Church Parking Lot
Why: Serve our neighbors and get rid of excess
What to sell: cars, books, linens, towels, shoes, camping
equipment, weights, kayaks, clothing, appliances, tools, coolers,
lunchboxes, furniture, dishes, game consoles, paint, bicycles, art
supplies, puzzles, board games, sports equipment, etc.
If you have questions or would like to sell your gently-used
items, please contact Kacey Hanson at khanson@hotmail.com.
Please use "Back-to-School Yard Sale" in the subject line.
