Parking: Current JUNIORS with Far lot stickers will be able to park in the Close lot starting next
Thursday, May 28th.
There will be an important Model UN meeting next Thursday afternoon, May 28th, right after school at
2:45pm in Room 103. We will elect officers for next year and discuss plans for next year's model UN schedule.
Everyone interested in joining Model UN should try to attend. See Mr. Kirkcaldy if you have questions.
Driver’s Education Summer classroom courses are filling fast ~ Session I is now full, however, there are a
few spots available for Summer Driving Ed Session II starting August 3rd. More information is on HHS
website – check the Hingham High School homepage under Clubs/Activities for applications and information.
Techie Training: Attention current 10th and 11th graders involved in Drama at HHS. Do you want the
ability to make $15hr working lights and sound for events at HMS? Learn basic lights/sound operation for
rental events at the HMS auditorium. Many opportunities to make $ doing something fun! No experience
necessary, just interest, availability, and dedication. Next training at HMS on Tuesday, May 26, 3-4pm. If

Outbreak 2015! Exploring Public Health ~ OUTBREAK is a week long interactive program (August 3-7,
2015) presented by the Public Health Museum located in Tewksbury. This unique program offers high school
students (offered free to current high school sophomores and juniors) the opportunity to learn the history and
importance of public health, including the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that could affect
people worldwide. See HHS nurse, Mrs. Szyman, for the application form. Deadline for applications is
June 1, 2015.
Sports News
Softball: HHS Varsity Softball jumped out to an early lead on Scituate and captured a 12-2 victory yesterday.
With five runs in the first three innings, and home runs by Liz Britt and Laurel Mahon, Hingham left no doubt
about the eventual outcome. Sarah Wight pitched 7 innings, allowing only 2 earned runs.
Girls’ Golf: JV finished the season yesterday with a huge win against NDA, sealing the undefeated season.
Sam Leary, Amy McAllister, Fate Farrell, Julia McCarthy, Isabella Gratta, and Maria Cerio all played well and
contributed to the 4-2 win at Rockland Golf Course.
Girls’ Track: Beat Silver Lake 104-32 to win the Patriot League title yesterday. The Hingham girls have not
lost a Patriot League meet since May 11th, 2010. The seniors are graduating undefeated in the Patriot League
for their entire 4 years! Many of them who are on the winter track team too, are undefeated for both seasons for
their entire Patriot League track careers. The girls who are also on the soccer and winter track teams have gone
undefeated in the league for all 3 sports seasons (Amy Kirk, Cate Grosskopf, Emma Burleigh, Casey
Rand, Grace Baggot, Leah Hickey).
Boys’ Track: Defeated Silver Lake 81-55 to clinch the Patriot League title yesterday. The boys ended with
an undefeated season and look forward to the Conference Meet next Tuesday.
Ultimate Frisbee: Practice has been moved to 5pm today. It will run until 7pm.
Seniors Important Reminder: Textbooks, library books, calculators, uniforms, or other obligations (or cash
for lost items) must be returned/fulfilled on or before Wednesday, May 27, in order to participate in the
graduation ceremony. Lockers should be cleared of all contents no later than May 26. Hingham High
School will not be responsible for any articles left in lockers.
Final Exam Schedules ~ 2015
Seniors
A senior with at least a B- average for the year at the end of term 3 and at least a B average for term 4, with nonexempt
absences not in excess of two (2) in the fourth term may be excused from taking the final exam. The list of eligible students
will be posted by the teacher on Thursday before the exams. Below is the exam schedule.

Year End Book Information: As the school year comes to an end, students must remember that all text books
will need to be returned to the appropriate teacher(s). Book slips that students completed at the beginning of
the school year or semester, MUST MATCH with the book number(s) that students are returning.
(Remember to get your book slip from your teacher in return for your book(s).) Obligations* MUST be met in
order to receive your diploma/transcripts-Seniors, report cards, fall schedules and to have any access to the
Aspen X2 portal-under classmen. If book(s) are missing, the value of the replacement cost will be required
in CASH only. (*This includes – uniforms, HHS Library books, Cafeteria balances, loaned calculators
etc.)
Past Important Announcements
Congratulations go out to EVERYBODY at Hingham High School for being awarded the Green Ribbon, an
honor presented by the US Department of Education to acknowledge our school’s achievements in taking a
comprehensive approach to sustainability.
There are no after school LATE BUSES at HHS.
CAFETERIA: All students require a pin number to purchase lunch or any items sold in the Cafeteria. (The
POS pin number is also available through the Aspen X2 portal. To find it, go to the Demographics tab. It is
the last item listed in the left-hand column under the state identifier.)
TARDY INFORMATION: Students please remember that if you are tardy, you are to report the Main
Office area for a tardy slip. Students need to just bring in a signed note from a parent when reporting to
the Main Office. A parent does not need to accompany them.
DISMISSAL/ABSENT NOTE INFORMATION: All dismissals require a signed note from a parent.
Students should see Mrs. Player in Mrs. Henriksen’s office ONLY for dismissals or for any exempt
absent notes. Please see her before first period. Her office is located at the end of the Social
Studies/English corridor (2nd floor) next to the Nurse’s Office. Regular absence notes from home can be
given to the student’s A Block teacher. (Students being dismissed by the nurse are to be picked up by
parents at the Pleasant Street entrance.)
Reminder ~ PLEASE LEAVE ALL VALUABLES LOCKED IN LOCKERS WHEN ATTENDING
CLASSES, GYM CLASSES OR WHEN GOING OUT TO FIELDS FOR AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS.
