Power Your PotenƟal
Dear IMA Spartanburg Area Chapter Members:
Spring is finally here! Don’t forget the IMA Carolinas Council 2015 Spring Conference
on April 22-25, 2015 at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC for a
chance to receive up to 16 hours of CPE.
At the March meeting Jeffrey D. Creech, CPA, CMA, PMP, “The Ethical Accountant”
gave us a very interesting discussion of ethics. At this month’s meeting we have
Michael Wolf, an economist with Wells Fargo Securities, giving us an Economic
Update.
Congratulations to the following members for their years of service being celebrated in
April:
T. Larry Leopard 45 years, Oren Brady 35 years, and E. Martin 5 years.
April 18th is the Spartanburg IMA wine tasting event. For those of you who joined us
last year for this event, it was an evening of great Italian food, wine and fellowship.
This year, the featured food and wine pairings will be from Spain and Argentina. This
event will honor our past chapter presidents and CMA’s and will include a special gift
for those in attendance. Reservations and payment are due by April 13th. Checks
should be made payable to “Spartanburg Area IMA” and mailed to:
Denny Boll
8 Bellows Falls Drive
Greer, SC 29650
The IMA has been going strong in Spartanburg for over 60 years. We have a vibrant
and active chapter that promotes fellowship, networking and continuing education. For
us to continue to receive the benefits that our Chapter offers we need more members
to volunteer for the open positions for next year. Please consider stepping up to help
for the 2015-2016 year. None of these positions take a lot of your time and helps us
keep going strong. We still have a need for the Secretary, Assistant Treasurer & a
coordinator for Community Responsibility. Talk to Susan Mullins or any Board
Member if you can help!
Best Regards,
Harvey Hicks

fees related
to the CMA
Rutherford County Schools and the rest of the RCS Finance Department.
• The CMA Exam Fee will increase from $350 to $380 per exam part. ICMA will
continue to offer a $100 discount if both parts are taken during the same testing
window.
• The CMA Certification Entrance Fee for candidates entering the program will increase
from $225 to $240.
The change in fees is the first increase made by ICMA in more than two years,
reflecting the increase in costs to administer the program. We’re confident you’ll agree
that CMA certification remains a wise investment of time and cost, enabling expanded
career opportunities and earnings potential.
CMA® Certification Fee Structure Change for Student and
Academic Members
Effective January 1, 2014, ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) has
made the following fee structure changes to the CMA program:
• The Student/ Academic CMA® Entrance Fee has increased from $75 to $120.
• The $100 discount when a student or academic registers for both parts at the same time
for the same testing window has been eliminated.
The new membership application with the updated rates can be found on IMA’s website in
the Online Store under Membership Products.
