InFocus Sports Training Solutions Debut Class of NFL Draft Candidates
Scores a Perfect 3 for 3
Fishers, Indiana (May 20, 2015) InFocus Sports Training Solutions prepared three candidates
for the NFL Combine and Pro-days in preparation for the 2015 NFL Draft held April 30 – May 2
in Chicago. All three players trained by InFocus finished the NFL draft weekend on their way to
a rookie training camp. Tight End James O’Shaughnessy, out of Illinois State University, was
pick number 173 in the 5th Round drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. Cameron Meredith, a wide
receiver, also from Illinois State University, and Rob Crisp, offensive tackle from North Carolina
State University, signed as priority free agents with the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals
respectively. Each player showed marked improvement in their on-field performance following
their InFocus training experience. (For specifics see below)
The three outstanding players were prepared mentally and physically by the InFocus training
staff led by Co-Athletic Directors Brian Griffitts and Levar Johnson. Griffitts and Johnson
assembled a team of position-specific and skill-specific coaches who provided individual skill
development training fully integrated with agility, mobility, and stability training focused on
peak performance in the exercises/drills required at the Combine. Griffitts explained, “The
InFocus approach is designed to give each athlete individual attention working in small-group
sessions. The program offers skills-based athletic training, performance training, positionspecific coaching, and mindset training to fully prepare the player for the Combine and Proday experience.” Johnson, who serves as the on-field skills coach commented, “Our Combine
training program is unique in that it is structured to provide individualized coaching focused on
measurable improvement during the 6-week period of our camp. Our competition generally
runs all of the camp participants through the same set of drills as a group, regardless of the
position the athlete plays or the skill sets they need to improve. We are committed to keeping
our classes small so that each athlete gets individual attention on the things he needs to work
on to improve his performance at the Combine. ”
James O’Shaughnessy had this to say about his experience with InFocus, “Even though it was
their first year, they did everything right. I had a great experience with the InFocus training
program. The whole staff there was extremely accepting and helpful in every aspect of what
we needed for the pre-Combine process. Brian was unbelievable. It’s difficult to work with
some coaches but Brian was very easy to talk to. If you had any type of issue or anything that
needed extra work, any type of help, Brian was always there. He would be there at the crack of
dawn if you needed him. And Levar—Levar is probably one of the best skills-positions coaches
I’ve ever worked with—if not the best. I have to attribute a lot of my success at the Pro-days to
him. When it came to route running and catching the ball, I needed a lot of improvement
when I got there and he did a great job. Going up to your Pro-days, you need to close your
blinders and focus on the task at hand and it’s a very tough time; a very stressful time. You
really need to buckle down and focus. They do a great job of setting up a proper atmosphere
for that - having not only daily routines, but also very helpful with other stress relievers. If we
needed anything on the weekend, they suggested something that would be healthy and
helpful for us to just get our minds off of the challenging task we had to do. They did a great
job of bringing out the best in me.”
O’Shaughnessy and Meredith are under management contract agreements with sports agent
Rilio Mastrantonio, based in Lansing, Illinois. Mastrantonio was thrilled with the results of the
draft for his players and pledged his willingness to send 2016 draft prospects to the InFocus
training camp. He concluded, “One reason for our success in the 2015 NFL draft was InFocus
training. Everyone at InFocus cares about the athlete and works diligently to prepare them for
success in every area, including Combine / Pro-day preparation, strength training, injury
rehabilitation and nutrition. Our players received the personal attention that they needed to
prepare them for this crucial time in their lives. These guys knew they were in good hands and
felt at home during training which showed in their excellent results.”
Cameron Meredith shared these comments about his experience with the InFocus training, “It
was a great opportunity for me to be able to go out to Indianapolis and see some new faces
and meet some new people. It was really good for me and James and Rob to go out there and
have that one-on-one, hands-on attention. Brian and Levar--they’re great coaches. When I first
got there, I didn't have the form that I needed to be fast enough at the professional level.
Brian really helped me increase my speed, over a short span of time. I changed positions
senior year of college so it was a big transition. Coming in after the season was over with, I
didn't have too much coaching in the receiver position. All the field work with Levar really
helped me. Levar was definitely a huge part of my success. I’m really glad I went out there
because I don't think I would have gotten the same results had I gone somewhere else that
didn't’ give me that one-on-one attention. Everybody that’s a part of the Sparta and InFocus
family showed a lot of love and support throughout the whole training and the transition into
the Combine, so it was really great.”
Each athlete in the InFocus Combine training program undergoes video analysis and extensive
evaluation to identify any physical limitations and muscle imbalances. Based on the results of
the testing each athlete receives coaching specific to their needs and corrective exercise
techniques, strength, power, and speed training to maximize their potential. The goal is to
have the player at the top of his form during the career-defining experience of the Combine
and Pro-days. Griffitts, who is the speed and agility coach, continued, “The approach is to do
an assessment of the player at the beginning of the camp, obtaining as much information as
we can from their college performance with input from the scouts when we can get it. We
deepen our knowledge of the player's weaknesses through our own rigorous assessment tools
and then, working in full partnership with the athlete, formulate a plan for what we want to
focus on in preparation for the Combine.”
The InFocus Combine training program is offered at the Sparta Training Facility in Fishers,
Indiana a short drive from the NFL Combine. Sparta is a 30,000 square foot facility with 70
yards of turf, a performance area, a multimedia enabled classroom, and conference room
especially designed to prepare elite athletes for high stakes competitive events. Athletes
participating in the InFocus Combine training program are housed near the Sparta Training
Facility and receive a custom nutrition regimen as well as dietary supplements.

*At the NFL Combine and on the NFL Network television coverage it was noted how “stiff” Rob
seemed to be in his hips. The MAT Therapy provided by a member of the InFocus training staff
was instrumental in identifying and correcting Rob’s movement in his hips. It was noted by
scouts in attendance at the North Carolina State Pro-day held March 23, 2015 how much more
athletic Rob looked that day, than at the NFL Combine.
