The onscreen directions in Setup Assistant walk you through the setup process, including connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with or creating a free Apple ID, setting up iCloud, and turning on recommended features. 2 3 Tap English as the language to select Slide arrow to the right to begin Tap on United States atCountyryRegionsCountry/Region Tap TpsGuestNet It may take a minute for the wireless to connect. It will automatically advance to the next screen once it connects. 4 TPS Configuration Tap Next Tap Enable Location Services Teacher Accounts: Username: ESC\5x2 Password: TPS Password Tap Next Tap Set up Touch ID (Apple Air 2’s only) This will allow access to iPad with fingerprint instead of a code. Student accounts: Use student network login: Example: Username me\webstudent Password: student **This step automatically sets up AirWatch on your device. You no longer need to go to the Airwatch Website** 5 Place your finger or thumb on Home Button, follow directions on the screen to lift and press repeatedly until all gray turns to red Tap Continue when complete screen appears Create a 6-digit Passcode (Please use your birthday mmddyy) (4 Digit Passcode use birthday mmdd) Re-Enter your 6-digit Passcode (Please use your birthday mmddyy) (4 Digit Passcode use birthday mmdd) 6 Tap Get Started Tap Use Siri (Apple Air Only) Setting up TPS Wi-Fi Wireless Setup After initial setup, iOS devices should find and connect to the first unsecured wireless signal they find. In our case, this should be TPSGuestNet. Tap on Forget this Network and Forget when it prompts. This prevents the iOS device from ever connecting to the TPSGuestNet without user intervention. Tap on the blue on the right of TpsGuestNet to open its properties. 7 Tap on the Wi-Fi option on the left side column The iPad is no longer connected to TPSGuestNet For ESC users: Username: ESC\5x2 Password: network password For Students: Username: ME\ studentsite username (belstudent) Password: student Tap Join Tap on TPSNet in the wireless list. You may get a pop-up box prompting you to log into iTunes. If you do not presently have an iTunes account, Click Cancel! (you may need to do this multiple times) If you already have an iTunes account, you may click Sign In and sign into your iTunes account – Follow instructions for setting up your iTunes account on Page - 13 Once you have entered VALID credentials, tap the Join button and you will be presented with a certificate to accept. Do so and you will be joined to the network. Tap Accept 8 Setting AirWatch Location Services: The following three Apps *should appear on the iPad. App Catalog, Browser, and Agent *Troubleshooting: If the App Catalog appears, but not the others, you will need to follow the steps on Page 13 for setting up an iTunes account. Then click on the App Catalog and reinstall the Browser and Agent App.* Click on the Agent App – Wait for Pop-Up window asking for Notifications – Click OK Click Allow to allow agent to access Location Services Click on Location A map should appear showing the location of the iPad. If it appears, you are done. If notfollow next steps. 9 Only do this if, previous step did not allow you to pull up the location map. Go to Setting App > Privacy Make sure Location Services are turned on, and Agent is set to Always. \ 10 TPS E-mail Setup Open the settings panel and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap the Add Account Select Microsoft Exchange Select items from exchange that the user would like to sync. In this case, all items are selected. Tap the Save button when complete to finalize your setup. It may take 2-5 minutes for your mail to sync Enter the user’s TPS email address 5x2@tulsaschools.org. Tap the Next button once complete. 11 Changing User’s Password after Email has been Setup If user changes their email password, you have to change it on Mobile devices as well. Open settings app and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap Exchange Tap the account at the top. In this example, the user is 5x2@tulsaschools.org To change the password, delete the Password field, and type the new password. Once this is complete, tap the Done. You should now be back at this screen. Tap Done once more and then you can close system settings. 12 Creating an iTunes Account - No Credit Card Needed Once the iPad has been setup and connected to Wi-Fi you are ready to start using applications. In order to add applications to your device you must have an apple id or an iTunes account. Most iTunes accounts require a credit card. On a Tulsa Public Schools district device you can create an account without a credit card. From the iPad 1. Open the App Store on your device. 2. Find a free application on the App Store. (ie. iBooks, educreations, Google Drive) 3. Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install the free application by tapping Free followed by tapping Install App. 4. Tap Create New Apple ID. 5. Choose your country, and then tap Done. 13 4. You'll need to read and agree to the iTunes Store Terms & Conditions. Tap Agree located at the bottom of the page to continue. 5. Enter your email address, security questions, birthday, and create your password. (For student accounts, you will need to get Google Account set up from IT – You will need 1 Google Account per Cart) Contact the service Desk to get this account set up! 746-6300 6. You also can enter an optional rescue email address. If you frequently change email addresses, it is recommended that you add a rescue email address. Learn more about the rescue email address. 7. Once you are satisfied with the information entered, tap Next. 8. Select None as your payment option. 9. Continue to fill out the required email, address, and phone number fields. Tap Next. 10. You'll then see a screen that says "Verify your Account." Tap Done, and check your email for a verification email from iTunes Store. 11. Go to your email, open the email, and click the link enclosed in the email to activate your account. 12. Once you tap the link, the App Store should automatically open and prompt you to sign in with your account name and password. Tap Sign In, and you will see a thank you screen. 13. You have set up your account successfully, and you can start enjoying iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. 14
