Write an essay comparing and/or contrasting two things (A & B) across two (2) aspects
that they share.
For example, compare life in the city vs. life in the country in regards to health and
safety.
You can focus on the similarities between the two things or the differences between
two things.
Examples of Possible Topics
 Compare your life to the life your grandparents lived in two areas.
 Compare being single to being married in two areas.
The essay should be 400 words long, typed, and double-spaced using Arial font size
12. It should have 2 body paragraphs. The 1st line of each paragraph should be indented.
The essay should follow the compare & contrast organization patterns and use the
compare & contrast vocabulary that we discuss in class.
