To access the Student Center:
1. Login to MyMadison: login.jmu.edu
2. Go to the Student tab.
3. Select the Student Center link.

 Academics
Search – Search for classes without entering enrollment. You cannot enroll from this feature.
Plan – Plan your potential schedules for the remainder of your academic career. Through Plan, you can search the
course catalog for courses that are required for your degree, and you can also see the semester the course are
typically offered.
Enroll – Enroll, drop, swap, and edit your classes.
My Academics - This page provides helpful academic resources. You can also find many of these resources under the
“other academic” dropdown. This page includes:

Request Enrollment Verification
My Major/Program – This page provides your current academic plan information. This could include major(s),
minor(s) pre-professional program(s), and concentration(s).
Schedule Planner – Assists in planning and creating a course schedule for the semester. You can designate certain
times throughout the week as “breaks” and create all possible class schedules with the courses chosen.

Academic Planner - Plan your potential schedules for the remainder of your academic career. Through the planner,
you can search the course catalog for courses that are required for your degree, and you can also see the semester
the course are typically offered.
Academic Requirements – See what academic requirements for your major/minor have been satisfied and what
requirements remain outstanding.
Class Schedule – View your current or future enrolled class schedule in either list or calendar view.
Enrollment Verification – Obtain an enrollment verification 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The printable report
provides current or complete enrollment history, anticipated graduation date, and good student verification used for
insurance discounts.
Enrollment: Add – Add classes to your current or future class schedule within the appropriate university dates and
deadlines.
Enrollment: Drop – Drop classes from your current or future class schedule within the appropriate university dates
and deadlines.
Enrollment: Edit – Edit your class repeat or grading option when applicable within the appropriate university dates
and deadlines.
Enrollment: Swap – Swap classes on your current or future class schedule within the appropriate university dates and
deadlines. This feature is most helpful when you want to enroll or waitlist for a different section or course but want
to stay enrolled in the current selection until you are enrolled in your preferred class.
Grades – View your semester grades. Midterm grades during the first semester of your freshmen year are also posted
here.
Req Official Transcript – Request your official transcript to be sent from the university.
Transcript: View Unofficial – View your unofficial transcript.
Transfer Credit: Report – View your transfer credit, if applicable.
View Advisor Notes – View and/or contact your current academic advisor(s).
What-if Report – Explore the academic requirements if you were to make a change to your major, minor, or preprofessional plan.
 Right Side Bar
Holds – View any holds that have been placed on your
account. If you have a hold and select “details”, you
can view the reason, the office that placed the hold,
and the contract information for the office.
To Do List – View your outstanding “to do” items.
Enrollment Dates – View your enrollment date. Select
“details” for additional enrollment information such
as the enrollment appointment time.
Advisor – View your academic advisor(s). Select
“details” for additional advisor information or to
contact your advisor.
 Finances
M3 – My Student Account – Electronically access and pay your tuition statement, housing, meal plans, and other
charges or fines. You can also set up other authorized payers and view your 1098T.
My Refunds – Set up your refund distribution here.
View Financial Aid – View your eligible financial aid.
Accept/Decline Awards – Complete your financial aid questionnaire and accept or deny your financial aid award.
On-campus Meal Plans – View or change your on-campus meal plan.
Pending Financial Aid – View pending financial aid awards and amounts.
UDAP Contract Purchase – Purchase a Utility Deposit Assistance Program Contract (UDAP). UDAP Contracts provide
full-time JMU students, in good standing, with the ability to obtain deposit-free or reduced deposit utility services.
View UDAP Contract – View your UDAP Contract.

Emergency Contact – View and edit your emergency contact information.
User Preferences – Set defaults for term, financial aid year, or academic career in the student center.
Privacy Information – Learn about the federal law regarding the privacy of student records and the obligations of the
university regarding the release of educational records and the access provided to these records.
Addresses – View, add, change or delete your local or home address. View your on-campus PO Box and lock
combination.
Extracurricular Activities – Includes extracurricular activities that were self-reported through admissions as well as
participation at JMU.
Honors and Awards – Includes honors and awards that were self-reported through admissions as well as honors and
awards earned at JMU.
Phone Numbers – View and edit your phone numbers. You can set your “preferred” number for official university
business, as well as authorize, or elect not to receive, emergency notification messages from JMU.

On Campus Housing – View your on campus housing assignment and access important information relating to on
campus housing.
