Tours of the campus will be held from 3:00pm-4:30pm and 6:00pm-7:30pm. This is a great opportunity for families experience what an amazing learning environment we have here at Davis. We look forward to meeting our new students! Drop-off Procedures In the interest of student safety, we would like to remind parents that students are not permitted to be dropped NO SCHOOL off before 8:05am. Melodie Moreno morenome@pcsb.org Volunteer of the Month Kristina Melnick Volunteer Luncheon A special thank you to Mike Short and Leeroy Selmon’s to providing an AMAZING lunch for our volunteers, business partners and staff. We would also like to thank our wonderful PTA for helping to fund that as well. We appreciate your continued support!!! Our volunteer of the month works in many capacities here at our school. She works in her children’s classrooms, classrooms of teachers that her children are not in, is on the 5th grade moving up committee, does blue folders every Friday and basically anything else that is needed. Davis Elementary Music Notes Special Event for 5th Grade Chorus – Please return your RSVP and/or permission slip for Viva La Musica as soon as possible. We will be singing "Viva la Musica" and "America the Beautiful" with the combined choruses. Students should wear jeans or shorts with the blue chorus polo or a plain blue or other Davis shirt. Viva La Musica! Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 – 8:00, Countryside High School Stadium Third Grade – We will have a "Recorder Showcase" sometime in May to show off the skills and concepts we have learned through instrumental music. Stay tuned for more details about our end-of-the year performance. Second Grade – BRAVO!!! Congratulations to all 2nd grade students for their amazing performance of "Of Mice and Mozart" this week. Thank you again to the Davis administration and staff for their support, and to the Second Grade teachers, volunteers, parents, and families who helped make the production a success. First Grade – Our next musical program will be "Sing Me a Story" on Tuesday, April 22 at Heritage United Methodist Church. Classes will demonstrate skills and concepts learned in music this year by creating performances to 6 exciting story books. Mark your calendars, and we'll see you there! ALL COUNTY – Congratulations to 5th graders Emily B, Jocelyn B, and Zurii T who represented Davis in the Pinellas Elementary Honors Chorus concert. These students worked very hard to prepare and performed beautifully in St. Petersburg earlier this month. Mr. Martinez, Mrs. Dykes, and Miss Kendall All 5th graders are invited to attend a celebration of music featuring performances from the musical ensembles of Safety Harbor Middle School and Countryside High School. Don't miss the combined choral performance by students from Davis and four other area Elementary schools!! Concessions open at 6:00pm. Relay For Life Although not camping and walking overnight, the LGDavis Bearcub team is still supporting the Oldsmar/Safety Harbor Relay for Life, April 2526 at Canal Park in Oldsmar. If you are interested in donating items to be part of prize gift baskets, please contact team captain Mr. Martinez at martinezd@pcsb.org. K-Kids/Student Council is also supporting the Relay effort, selling purple wristbands for $1 before school from April 1st – 4th. Students may also bring in $1 to wear a hat on Hat Day, Friday, April 11. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Thank you for your support!!
